After a proper graft, I was absolutely knackered.
Maybe the weather turning, maybe the booze kicked in like a sleeper.
I hate crashing out early. Never was one for a long kip, you see.
But I just went down quick. And the mad thing I saw, right, in the dream...

I saw the old manor, thirty years back, that’s where I went.
And I met all my mates, the ones who are long gone, heaven-sent.
Proper buzz, just kicking about the estate, where the blocks weren't all grey.
And I had so much to tell you blokes today.

This city never meant that much to me, did it?
Sometimes I even bloody hated the place, to be honest. But not today, mate.

I was never one for that nostalgia lark, or all that sentiment.
But seeing you lot, I was genuinely chuffed.
Though I always thought I was a misanthrope, a total sociopath, even.
But back then, I still loved people.
