I chose Fungi for the album name because it tastes good and sounds like a swinging rhythm. Likewise the fusion of the organic electronica that you can hear from the album. Fungi is a mix of round shaped electronic music, dancing, travelling and lost and found sounds. Cooked with grinded spices; worldmusic, field-recordings, dubby cumbia and other South-American flavours. Andean instrument Hatun Charango gives lightness for bass frenquencies. I create mellow and exiting vibes that carries listener to the different spaces. Montreal based artist Diana León is featuring in two songs.

Fungi is a latin term for mushrooms. The species that is widely spread under the forest. What we see is a small part of the bigger picture. Under the ground there is unknown and fascinating cooperation with myceliums and roots of trees and plants.

Artist bio
My name is QOSQI or Teemu Raudaskoski by my real name. I come from northern Finland but now I live in Tampere. I experience music strongly, both visually and physically. I mix traditional music and new sounds into a collage. Electronic world music is a living folklore. It’s interesting combine of impressions from different perspectives. I enjoy exploring different electronic instruments as well as acoustic ones. I dived into Andean music at the beginning of the millennium and it has been a part of my music since then. I’m trying to find a perfect rhythm. Dancing is like a rebirth for a human being. After that, there is always something new growing.

There is something called Asthu. Imagine it like a Casper flying next to you. It's there all around us. It's like the Indian version of guardian Angel. However, the difference is the Asthu is slightly laid back but disciplined. And it doesn't have a judgmental ability of its own. Rather, it respects you so much that it leaves the job to you and doesn't question. It won't choose for you. It won't know whether you mean it or not. Sometimes you say things you don't mean but it will make it come true. E.g. You wonder what if someone steals your footwear from outside temple, Asthu will bring the attention of a thief to your footwear and it will be gone. Sometimes it will miss listening to you. So when you say something followed by tathastu, it means you have thought so much about what you are saying and calling the attention of Asthu to work along with you to make it come true. So, always be mindful of what you think and say. The literal meaning in English is "So be it" or "apadiye aagatum" or "apadiagapatathu" in Tamil. (...)

In the Burning Man  of 8 years gone by, a story of two wanderers with a history for cross-pollinating the sounds of yesterday with the sounds of tomorrow found their moment. With a shared taste in gourmet percussion, deep and rare rhythms, and cosmic culture, what resulted was KMLN — one of the most time-bending and pulsating acts currently circulating the global deep-eclectic house dance movement. 

The international shapeshifting duo, KMLN (pronounced “Kameleon”) unites Italian producer/multi-instrumentalist Christopher Tooker and Canadian /producer Shawna Hofmann. Find them singing, playing live bass, percussion,  looping  or guest musicians, you never know what to expect, every show is different. As interplanetary travelers and cultural explorers, the KMLN ship bends reality through sound, moving through tempos with layers and layers of mind altering colors.

Last year alone, the KMLN ship landed in over 21 countries worldwide. Their shows have been experienced at some of the most respected festivals including The BPM Festival, Miami Music Week, Amsterdam Dance Event, Lightning in a Bottle, Global Eclipse, Art With Me, Summit Series, Air Festival, Art Basel, Symbiosis Gathering, Shambhala, Wonderfruit, The Gardens Of Babylon, Subsonic, Meadows in the Mountains and legendaryBurning Man art cars such as Robot Heart and Mayan Warrior.
Venues worth mentioning are Watergate, The Brooklyn Mirage, Flash Club, Klein, The Grand Factory, Scorpios, Woomoon, Papaya Playa, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, Monarch, Public Works, Katerblau, Open Studios and Sisyphos.
