Through the mix series I aim to highlight the creative  expressions of the talented up and coming as well as established DJs and producers in the Kootenays and the surrounding areas of BC. The mix series is dedicated to the four to the floor lovers who may often find themselves the first or last two-steppin' on the dance floor. To those who find that movement is an essential expression of life, love, and joy. To those who find that connecting with others through movement is a process of liberation and a building block of our community. To those who get moved by the music, a language that we speak that emanates from the depths in our hearts and souls. Sunny Acres is musician, producer and Dj, Chris Francis. From an eclectic mix of wonderfully crafted original rhythms, basslines and melodies to great tracks from around the world, Sunny Acres weaves a sonic fabric of acoustic and electronic music. He is a local Kootenay producer and DJ, all-around stand-up guy, most humble DJ, and my brother from another mother. I don't remember when I first met Chris, but I know his distinctive style of deep and chugging house is what drew me to him. Since knowing him, I've had the pleasure of having him play at my events and we've danced many nights away. Keep your eyes on his Soundcloud as he'll be releasing his first LP this spring. This mix is a colourful tapestry of tasteful selections thoughtfully weaved together. I appreciate the deep basslines and heartfelt vocals that pull me into the story he tells. I love his mixing style that blends layers of each song so seamlessly that one cannot tell where one begins and where the next one starts. I hope you enjoy this mix and it gets you swaying, tapping your toes, 2-stepping, bopping, bouncing, and feeling all the feels.

For this Botanas we had the pleasure of inviting German producer Timboletti, the man behind the Confetti Club Ensemble and the Copycow label. In his own words Timboletti´s music is "an organic amalgamation of traditional, hand-played music and the digital functionality of House beats." 

These two tracks are beautifully crafted slices of reimagined electronic music, a love letter from the dancefloor to South America: inspired by travels, by places and by experiences from the beaches of Southern Mexico to the rest of the continent. 

This Botanas is all about the birds flittering in the palm trees above, the deep warm kicks below, the slow build ups, snippets of guitar and basslines that will be in your head or on the dancefloor all summer / winter ;).

In the Burning Man  of 8 years gone by, a story of two wanderers with a history for cross-pollinating the sounds of yesterday with the sounds of tomorrow found their moment. With a shared taste in gourmet percussion, deep and rare rhythms, and cosmic culture, what resulted was KMLN — one of the most time-bending and pulsating acts currently circulating the global deep-eclectic house dance movement. 

The international shapeshifting duo, KMLN (pronounced “Kameleon”) unites Italian producer/multi-instrumentalist Christopher Tooker and Canadian /producer Shawna Hofmann. Find them singing, playing live bass, percussion,  looping  or guest musicians, you never know what to expect, every show is different. As interplanetary travelers and cultural explorers, the KMLN ship bends reality through sound, moving through tempos with layers and layers of mind altering colors.

Last year alone, the KMLN ship landed in over 21 countries worldwide. Their shows have been experienced at some of the most respected festivals including The BPM Festival, Miami Music Week, Amsterdam Dance Event, Lightning in a Bottle, Global Eclipse, Art With Me, Summit Series, Air Festival, Art Basel, Symbiosis Gathering, Shambhala, Wonderfruit, The Gardens Of Babylon, Subsonic, Meadows in the Mountains and legendaryBurning Man art cars such as Robot Heart and Mayan Warrior.
