This mixtape is created as an experiment in travel and transformation.  It describes a state defined as:  the ambiguous feeling entering the stage of in between, leaving the familiar expected and headed to an unknown new state of vulnerability.

This is a time machine that will bring you deep into your psyche.

A journey from life to death. Familiarity to flux. Gone is that comfort and clarity of song begins and ends, instead you get into a sonic elevator that transports you through an evolution of portals, states or Bardos.                                                                             

Music usually stimulates or matches feelings thoughts or moods, other times music can be a gateway to uncharted territories.

We edited parts and portions of songs and added layers of vocals, soundscape recordings, percussions, instruments and spoken word to create this journey. <3

Playing at BM is such a wild card, so many vastly different vibes and qualities to each set depending on the camp, car, set up, crowd, weather and time of day or night. The vibe at Ego Trip was such a treat for us! They created an extremely cozy enveloping bohemian victorian zone with gorgeous couches, sweetly dimmed colorful lanterns, rugs, mirrors, bar, and the name sakes' thematic beauty tables where you can receive a makeover;)

So funny how the name Ego Trip can ring some little reactive bells, but the reality of their camp was so lacking in pretentiousness and gently disarming that it ended up being the set where we and the crowd went so deep on a very internal dance experience. And that profound vibe pulled one of the most immersed sets out of us we’ve played this whole year. It seemed like a mind meld where we all time traveled to return feeling like we accomplished something very healthy for our minds, bodies and souls.

Thanks Ego Trip. You created magic out there ❤

With a shared taste in gourmet percussion, deep and rare rhythms, and cosmic culture, what resulted was KMLN — one of the most time-bending and pulsating acts currently circulating the global deep-eclectic house dance movement. 

The international shapeshifting duo, KMLN (pronounced “Kameleon”) unites Italian producer/multi-instrumentalist Christopher Tooker and Canadian /producer Shawna Hofmann. Find them singing, playing live bass, percussion,  looping  or guest musicians, you never know what to expect, every show is different. As interplanetary travelers and cultural explorers, the KMLN ship bends reality through sound, moving through tempos with layers and layers of mind altering colors.

Last year alone, the KMLN ship landed in over 21 countries worldwide. Their shows have been experienced at some of the most respected festivals including The BPM Festival, Miami Music Week, Amsterdam Dance Event, Lightning in a Bottle, Global Eclipse, Art With Me, Summit Series, Air Festival, Art Basel, Symbiosis Gathering, Shambhala, Wonderfruit, The Gardens Of Babylon, Subsonic, Meadows in the Mountains and legendaryBurning Man art cars such as Robot Heart and Mayan Warrior.
Venues worth mentioning are Watergate, The Brooklyn Mirage, Flash Club, Klein, The Grand Factory, Scorpios, Woomoon, Papaya Playa, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, Monarch, Public Works, Katerblau, Open Studios and Sisyphos.
