Tagliabue is a sound engineer, selector and music producer based in Milan, Italy. His meticulous musical research reflects an eclectic style characterized by an Italian attitude which is the expression of the love for his land and its traditions. Blending elements of ambient and trance through the use of experimental and contemporary electronic techniques, he blurs the boundaries of genre, offering refined, evocative and always different emotions without ever abandoning his own music identity. It can be heard in his releases for Sound Metaphors, Invisible Inc., Elephant Gait Music and Lustpoderosa. In 2020 he founded Blue Sea Studio at the gates of Milan, his home for the production and sound design of contemporary music and original soundtracks.

This is a live recording, captured at Ego club in Düsseldorf, June 5 1999.  The music has been created with a self written step sequencer, the PX-18, controlling  a basic sample player and effects engine, all done in MaxMSP, running on a Powerbook G3. The step sequencer had some unique features, e.g. the ability to switch patterns independently in each track, which later became an important part of a certain music software.

I found the recording on a backup disk today. It has not been edited or mastered. During the first 20 minutes of the set, and before the 'encore' the Monolake CD 'Gobi' is playing in the background.

We're super geeked to welcome Ninasupsa aka Nina Bochorishvili to the GF series this week. This immensely talented DJ is one of the founders of Mutant Radio and a resident DJ at Bassiani/Horoom in Tbilisi. Together with an impressive team consisting of Tata and many other talented individuals, this forward-thinking crew bootstrapped an online station and grew this into one of the most prominent platforms in the scene. It's set up in a wagon and located at a former power station in Tbilisi, Georgia. Here they've crafted and developed their distinct mutant sound and host radio shows by Low Bat, who is a key contributor to the station, Diamin, Sons of Traders, Newworldaquarium, Robert Bergman, our own Bertram, and many others. They also invest heavily in their local community and never shy away from sharing their political views. Whether hosting takeovers in Garage Noord here in Amsterdam or Sameheads in Berlin, Ninasupsa and her team continue to spread the mutant gospel and we couldn't be happier about it. Lock in for an hour-long trademark mutant experience brought to you by one of the most exciting DJs out there.

We are delighted to share with you a fresh episode of our mix series, this time with Alicia Carrera. 

Originally from Galicia based in Barcelona and with a long stint in Berlin behind her, Alicia Carrera is a woman of multiple talents: graphic designer, a photographer and, of course, a DJ of some reputation, thanks to her comprehensive knowledge of dance music and unique taste when mixing and recording sessions. Her musical obsessions run to genres such as new wave, psychedelia, experimental electronics, and darkwave; sonic passions that led her to find the fanzine Zauberstab, dedicated to making unusual and hidden music known.

In this episode, you can enjoy Alicia's always present signature in the selection of slow melodies, cosmic sounds, percussive rhythms and house, trance and new beat influences, always with the ambitious and praiseworthy objective of taking the audience to a new and unknown place.
