We've decided to stay in Greece for the 8th episode of our monthly Casts and join forces with super talented and unclassifiable artist Anatolian Weapons.

More than 15 years producing music speaks for itself about the vast knowledge of the Athenian artist who, after exploring the borders of EBM and Krautrock with his other 2 monikers Dream Weapons and Fantastikoi Hxoi, found his path under the alias of Anatolian Weapons, bringing both styles and adding a more spiritual vibe. 

His works as remixer are also remarkable, we had the pleasure to feature him last year with an amazing rework of Shujumi, included on the acclaimed release from Volta Cab "Balearic Balsam EP".

Also need to be mentioned his passion for tribalism and Greek folk music, both well reflected on his style, with outstanding works that have found a place in renowned imprints like "Beats in Space", "Emotional Rescue" and "Dark Entries" among others.

MM CAST 08 - Anatolian Weapons

The musical story of Marie Pravda begins in the Olomouc Metro chill out club, where every party was more like an afterparty, and the bpm rarely exceeded 110. The great secret of the truth (Pravda in Czech) has been revealed.

Its continuation brings us to Prague, where Marie soon acts as a pleasant refreshment in a city full of monotonous techno. She quickly gets her bearings, and her refined tracks can be heard on her show Narrativ on the Punctum radio. A couple of years of hard work spent on the internet searching for the out of ordinary music and mixing it in her home studio are finally bearing fruit: the first big gigs are coming up, as well as residencies at Ankali and Planeta Za. She recently became part of the international exchange program Gravity between residents of Jasna1 club in Warsaw, Revier Südost in Berlin and Ankali in Prague.

But her story doesn't end there. It is just beginning. Her dance sets can be fierce and uncompromising, and conversely, the listening ones will take you over the valleys and ridges of your long journey. In both of these positions, you never know what she's going to blast you off right now.

Knekelhuis # 84 - Marie Pravda

DJ and digger for over two decades, Sacha's musical culture taps into a wide spectrum of influences.  He is one of those special DJs that manages to find the links between completely disparate kind of music and weave them together to create life changing moments and rich narratives on the dancefloor. 

Playing a large range of genres from Experimental, Dub, to Early Rave, Jungle, Techno, Acid, or depends of the vibe New Wave, to  post-Punk, Krautrock or weird electronic sounds… His knowledge of rare gems and infectious oddball obscurities is second to none. 

He has been a resident at Le Sucre in Lyon (FR) from 2014 at 2016, where he has earmarked his very peculiar style, and has been touring all over the world (pre-covid era) since then.

When he's not DJing, Sacha runs the esteemed Macadam Mambo record Label in between Lyon and Belgrade, known in the past for releasing incredible edits and now focus on new original music by the likes of Eiger Drums Propaganda, Eva Geist, Houschyar, Steve Pepe, Panoptique, Abschaum, Jin Cromanyon, Zmatsutsi to name a few… and by himself time to time under his S.M. alias via his compilations Danzas Electricas.

Mark Knekelhuis - Oddity Influence Mix

We're super geeked to welcome Ninasupsa aka Nina Bochorishvili to the GF series this week. This immensely talented DJ is one of the founders of Mutant Radio and a resident DJ at Bassiani/Horoom in Tbilisi. Together with an impressive team consisting of Tata and many other talented individuals, this forward-thinking crew bootstrapped an online station and grew this into one of the most prominent platforms in the scene. It's set up in a wagon and located at a former power station in Tbilisi, Georgia. Here they've crafted and developed their distinct mutant sound and host radio shows by Low Bat, who is a key contributor to the station, Diamin, Sons of Traders, Newworldaquarium, Robert Bergman, our own Bertram, and many others. They also invest heavily in their local community and never shy away from sharing their political views. Whether hosting takeovers in Garage Noord here in Amsterdam or Sameheads in Berlin, Ninasupsa and her team continue to spread the mutant gospel and we couldn't be happier about it. Since learning the ropes in Glasgow’s underground with early releases on Optimo Music and a residency at the famous Art School club, Thomas Lea Clarke aka https://soundcloud.com/mrtcmusic has spent the past 10 years delving into the recesses of experimental electronic club music with his own productions, playing live shows, doing some remixes, mixing and meeting a lot of people along the way. We first met in 2016 both spinning at a Blue Cheese party. These days he works at a radio station and tends to https://soundcloud.com/phasegroup, the label he started with Lo Kindre.

His hobbies are spending time on his own recording sounds, or to be with close ones, eating something good, having a drink and sharing a moment. He runs to keep fit and likes spending time in nature whenever he can. He's easily distracted, not sure if that’s a bad thing though - if he's good at working on multiple things at once, or bad at focusing on one thing at a time.

His mix meanders through some kind of dreamspace with ghostly appearances. He's in no hurry but quickly grabs you by the throat. 'Wherever you may go in life… just don't stop the dance'

Clyde Arcalis and Low Bat are together with Aki Gratte Ciel running the radio show named Yellow Light of Death on the Tbilissi based Mutant Radio. Clyde used to be the owner of a records store in Bordeaux named Oto Disques, while Low Bat, former booker of arkaoda Berlin, can be sometimes seen in tiny shorts and performing as front man of Jean-Luc.
