Nu-Mi (formally known as Peter Wilson) was born in England 1984. His first break onto the music scene in 2002 was at the legendary Pier Pressure night club in Hastings , home to John Digweed and Danny Howells.  When the booked DJ failed to turn up, Knewmi  Cahony jumped at the chance to perform his first set in a night club, gaining himself a residency on Hastings Pier for six months.

Nu-Mi attained a diploma at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music in 2003, and in 2005, created his own music festival (Guestlingbury) held on his family’s land in Guestling, East Sussex.  With help from his family and friends,  Guestlingbury soon became the place to be and be seen in Hastings.
After coming runner up at a national DJ competition in London, he played a set in the main room at the world famous club Turnmills in London.  Joining Nu-Mi on the flyer was his idol in dance music, Mauro Picotto.  Other artists such as Dave Seaman, Judge Jules, Matt Hardwick, were also featured on the line up.

Nu-Mi also gained a wealth of experience playing and performing in a family band called "The Myst" for 12 years. 

The experience of running his own events has given him a great understanding of how to play and produce for a crowd. Nu-Mi  has merged live instruments into his DJ sets, giving it a spice of tough techno, growling synths, whaling guitar solos, tribal drums and raw soulful vocals.
