Yves Tomas releases ‘Temper’ OST via Radio Slave’s Pyramids of Mars. UK-based musician Yves Tomas’ ‘Temper’ is the soundtrack to Georgia Hudson’s indie film.

Exploring people’s lives through a series of interviews, Hudson’s ‘Temper’ is a study of the human condition, looking at the raw emotions of its subjects, touching on various experiences by those in the film. Tomas agreed to take on the project after connecting to the narratives within, stating “everything felt so personal and pertinent to what I was experiencing at the time. The struggle with loss, separation, drugs and alcoholism, identity, change and new hope”.

Embracing these themes, Tomas worked in his deft production skills to accompany the film, delivering a deeply personal and engaging affair for Hudson, whose previous collaborators include Loyle Carner, P!nk, Nike and more. Utilising field recordings and personal vocal snippets alongside cinematic drama and creative approaches, ‘Temper’ makes for a compelling listen throughout.

Yves Tomas has been immersed in music from a young age, absorbing the Jungle and Drum & Bass produced by his parents and the well-documented fertility of Bristol’s vast music scene throughout his youth, before beginning a career as a music engineer. Throughout this, Tomas spent time honing his craft to perfection, resulting in his debut ‘Pilot EP’ on Rekids in 2020 and now culminating in ‘Temper’, his first full-length release.

Next up on the docket for Acid Camp Records is a record created by duo John Tejada and Justin Maxwell. The pair came together to make ACR III with two things in mind: Creating sounds that put a smile on their face while possessing as much character as possible. 

The opening track, “I’ve Got Acid (On My Brain)” is a mind-bending wavetable freakout, the likes of which Tejada and Maxwell have been striving to do for years. Using a vintage EMS vocoder to create an original vocal sample, this track is bright, playful, & vivacious. “The Name Rolls In” is layered in an acid playground of sounds. A rhythmic track with a potent 303 bass line, prominent percussion, and that infamous vocoder back at it to create a distinctly groovy track. “Field Notes”, is a composition of celestial arrangements that is completely beatless. Carried through by tiers of sounds, filters, and noisier elements, this track lulls the listener into an alluring sonic dreamscape.

The second record for the celebrations of the 50th Uncanny Valley release is peppered with familiar faces and artists who will release for the first time on the Dresden based label. After PINK anticipated the coming summer, RED creates a slightly menacing heat lightning. The perfect soundtrack for the phenomenon that is commonly known as Aurora Polaris. 

The American-Australian duo The Golden Filter make their debut on Uncanny Valley. And it’s a tailor-made start. THE PULL is centered around minimalistic drum work, dystopian pads and sparse vocal dots that aim for an inward catharsis. A returnee after eight years is mysterious Mayan Gold from Dresden. His KOMM UND ENTSPANNE (means come and relax) rides on acidic waves and embracing synths, which develop an enormous pull effect on the dance floor. 
Norwegian Charlotte Bendiks’ first track on Uncanny Valley continues the sound language she developed on Cómeme. PASCO is a Percussion-heavy track that sounds just as compelling as it is disturbingly beautiful. Music to lose your mind to. Finally, Austin-based artist Katrina Fairlee teams up with Uncanny Valley-stable Sneaker for the psychedelic drum lesson that is OAK.
