Knife presenta el podcast 180 por Ancient Methods, proyecto de Michael Wollenhaupt. 

Desde su aparición, el proyecto ha sido a menudo etiquetado como “pitch black techno war funk“  (citado después de una reseña inicial de Boomkat) y estrechamente asociado a lo que más tarde sería etiquetado como el movimiento "tecno industrial". Knife presents Sunil Sharpe for the 200th podcast in our series.

Sunil Sharpe is one of Europe's most renowned and well-loved techno DJs. Gaining an enviable reputation for his DJing in the early '00s, he was soon inviten to play at Berlin's Tresor Club, marking the start of an intensive involvement in the techno scene. Sunil has played extensively
around Europe at the likes of Berghain, Fabric, Concrete, Sub Club, Glastonbury Festival and much more. He was also DJ of choice on the first two Karenn European tours, the last of which was marked by his now classic Boiler Room set in London.

Known primarily for his fast-moving, skillful style on the decks, Sunil's reputation as a producer of raw, individualistic techno, has grown in tandem with his reputation as a DJ. To date he has appeared on labels such as Works The Long Nights (aka Sheworks), Black Sun Records, Rave Or Die, Trensmat, Mord, Inner Surface Music, Violet Poison and many more. Sunil also recently setup
On The Hoof, a label dedicated specifically to his own productions and collaborations with friends.

Sunil makes up one half of Tinfoil alongside fellow Dublin-based producer DeFeKT. Initially forged as a studio partnership in 2014 (and more recently as a live show), the pair have since racked up an impressive catalogue of 12"s on their own self-titled label. Additionally, Sunil runs the wonderfully erratic Earwiggle imprint that has built a dedicated following, releasing new names and old heroes into the battlefield.

Sunil's application to techno and the scene in general, pushes far beyond the standard
DJ/producer mould. Enjoying a long stint in pirate radio from his early days of active DJing, Sunil joined national station RTÉ 2fm in 2007, where he has since offered up a monthly mix of new music. The show has also been characterized by in-depth interviews with the likes of Jeff Mills, Surgeon, Blawan and many others.

Sunil has also devised a new format for playing/reviewing new music in "The Quarterly Crate". Now in its third year, the hugely informative video series supplies a special insight into his most recent vinyl acquisitions.

Folk memory colliding with industrial force.

Tasime da Hidonash fuse the artistic practices of both artists into a singular and uncompromising vision. Drawing from Georgian folk vocal traditions and fast-paced industrial percussion, the duo constructs intense sonic rituals charged with menace and tension. Their sound is tense and ritualistic, unfolding as controlled acts of pressure that shift between hypnotic atmosphere and raw impact.

Their compositions constantly evolve in structure and intensity. In live performances, machines take the stage alongside voice and body, transforming each piece into a turbulent barrage of vocals, live effects, and modulation.

After their debut album on Soil Records (Madrid) and the Harmonia EP released through our label, Tasime da Hidonash return with a new album: louder, faster, and more confrontational than before.

Hypostasis is a Georgian experimental industrial/wave interpretation of philosopher Federico Campagna's concept of "Technic," the dominant, all-encompassing system of unreality.

It translates it into a soundscape of cold, digital textures and rhythmic, industrial pulsations where the experience of the modern subject is trapped under a godlike, technologically imposed force and the transhumanist urge to overcome biological finitude.

Éste cuenta con cuatro pistas originales y cuatro remixes de artistas que han sido referencia para nosotros desde hace ya bastante tiempo, ellos son hypnoskull, Exome, Shrouds y MDD.
“Bleeding Out Shadows Of The Past” es la materialización de un conjunto de pensamientos y sentimientos plasmadas en forma de música, siempre priorizando la idea de sonido que buscamos en Knife.
Se encontrarán con pistas cargadas de metales, paisajes sonoros, intensas líneas de bajos y voces que nos harán sentir que cada pista cuenta una historia.
Habrá copias limitadas en formato de cinta y la versión digital, por supuesto, también estará disponible.

We are excited to announce that we will be kicking off our Knife Records label.
The first release will be a full EP from one of our members, Kamé a.k.a. Ornella Banchero who presents "Bleeding Out Shadows Of The Past".
This has four original tracks and four remixes from artists that have been reference for us for quite some time, they are Hypnoskull, Exome, Shrouds and MDD.
“Bleeding Out Shadows Of The Past" is the materialization of a set of thoughts and feelings embodied in the form of music, always prioritizing the idea of ​​sound that we seek in Knife.
You will find tracks loaded with metals, soundscapes, intense basslines and voices that will make us feel that each track tells a story.
There will be limited copies in tape format and the digital version of course will also be available.
Visual art has been created by another of our members, Sofía Arista with our friend and great photographer ʍᴀɢᴛɴᴏ.
The mastering was carried out by Nicola Cimmino a.k.a. Sharplines/Nathaniel.
