A quick follow-up to 2019’s Studies For a Vortex, composed during the quarantine months in Portugal. Gone are many of the “warmer” elements and the obvious human touches that comprised the full length debut, with no scrap metal, no drums, and no vocals outside of the occasional samples. In its place, we’re confronted with 8 tracks of cold, synthesized throb and terminally doomed electronic currents, threaded with crackling skuzz, shuffling debris, and ominous interference. It’s a stripped down and despondent recording, about the loss of what we have as human beings, our capability to feel, experience and create, and most certainly appropriate and befitting of current times.

When we talk about Luis M. Espinosa, we are talking about one of the greatest activists and musical exponents of the Madrid scene since the beginning of the nineties, being one of the most active and restless artists musically since his beginnings without wanting to pigeonhole or place limitations between musical genres or styles. Always understanding music as a whole.

Obsessed with music and cinema since he was a child, with all kinds of genres and styles, he began his journey like almost everyone else at that time, cutting and pasting songs on double cassette tapes, until he discovered the world of turntables, turntablism and scratching at the age of 10. And buying and collecting in Vinyl since the early nineties without stopping working with the Music and continue to expand its huge collection of vinyl for decades every day throughout these 44 years. Exercising his work as a DJ since the beginning of the nineties 93. Combined with his work as a promoter and catalyst of hundreds of sessions and events. Director for decades of many of the Events and Sessions.

From here on he is fully dedicated to the creation and promotion of events where eclecticism, the flight from fashion and typecasting have been the norm. It has become an important reference in the dissemination of different styles of black and electronic music in the capital. For example, we can mention the Sound City, A.I. Series, K4PHREX, Oberheinm, Electro Frequencies, Slow Motion, Round Nature & Zyrcadian Editions... cultivating and developing in a parallel way the noble art of DJing in venues such as Siroco, Café la Palma, Ballesta Club, Specka and many others throughout the country.

In 2020, he launches his publishing platform, Artificial Intelligence, a clear tribute to the memorable Warp series. Its main vocation will be to pay tribute and a sincere and heartfelt tribute to the pioneers of the early 1990s, from the first scene and generation of creators, artists and producers of the Bleep sound and pioneers of Braindance and Idm from labels such as Warp Records, Rephlex, Planet Mu and Skam Records.
