TufStuf Records returns to the Hardcore/Jungle Techno vibes with 003. An excellent four tracker, focusing on a darker late night rave vibe.

Track one is DJ Sofa's excellent remix of Arkyn's track 'No Way to Die' the track is an outstanding display of DJ Sofa's incredible production style. And after her recent releases on Myor, Future Retro London, Straight Up Breakbeat and 3AM Eternal to name a few we are very happy have her feature on TufStuf Records.

Track two is label boss Arkyn's original mix of 'No Way to Die'. Which features hard cutting Jungle Techno stabs, sharp breaks, deep sub bass and an aggressive ravey acid line to boot. Dark and hard rave vibes for the heads.

Track three is the first of two colabs from Vinyl Junkie and Sanxion titled 'Hearts of Man'. Where they have excellently captured the vibe of 1993 rave while bringing it up to date in a very much TufStuf sound. Fast rave stabs, with Dub/Reggae overtones, dark synths & donks and clean and hard hitting drums.

Track four is more on a Jungle Techno tip from Vinyl Junkie & Sanxion where they have created a full on rave track with also a soulful deeper pad breakdown and a build up into some fantastic Jungle Techno stab work. This ones an excellent trip, and rounds off the EP perfectly.

I'm very excited to release this EP. DJ Doubt is an artist who came onto my radar earlier this year and impressed me with his unique Jungle Techno style and also some excellent Jungle productions.

I first met Tommy (DJ Doubt) in person when I was DJing in Bristol for 'The Beaten Track' crew at Greenworks earlier this year in the summer time. We stayed touch with each other and spoke about releasing some of his music on the label and I began the process of putting this EP together.

Since then it's been great getting to know Tommy and his friends, and him and I played a great B2B together at his event 'Way of The Future' in Bristol and Tommy is also due to DJ at the next TufStuf night in Nottingham on 1st Feb. So he is well and truly part of the crew. His passion, talent and work ethic for the music is really impressive.

This EP also features a remix from the highly talented KRUNX who funnily enough I first heard him play at Greenworks the same night I met Tommy. KRUNX is a live set wizard his productions seamlessly blending European & UK free party influences such as Tribecore & Tekno with Jungle Techno & Breakbeat Hardcore. His remix has already been going down exceptionally well on dancefloors across the UK. I have played it in all of my sets for the past 3 months and it's also seen some great support from Hughesee and Louise Plus One. (Big shout out to Si & Louise as always)

I have also remixed Tommy's track Enjoi as well with some hard driving Jungle Techno vibes.

Big love to everyone involved with this EP and for all of the DJ's who've supported the release so far.

The Fat Controller's remix of 2 Croozin' "Code Red" is a classy slice of original hardcore flavor. Justin Time, a legend within the scene, remixed Dj Poosie's "Its Gonna Be" back in 1995 and it never got released - until now. An unreleased classic finally gets put on wax. On the flip side, Dj Jeph takes Alk-e-d's Jungle anthem "Shining Bright" and makes it even junglier while shining it even brighter, and its all rounded up with "High On Life" - perhaps the best of Dj Force & The Evolutions tracks - has a late '96 styled remix from Saiyan & Cru-l-t. Exclusive to vinyl, no digital release, Kniteforce is so back. So very, very back.

Lastly, a few little notes about this release. It started as a small thing, just trying to get 20 remixes of tunes to commemorate the 20 year anniversary of Kniteforce. It turned into something much bigger – and certainly much more expensive to do. I was originally going to do the remixes myself, and then I started asking people I admire, and before you know it, I had some of the most amazing people in the scene remixing tracks. At that point, I thought I should do a proper CD. And that became 3 CDs, one mixed and two unmixed. And then I thought, what the hell, lets do a box set.
 
I have tried my best to make this an amazing collectors item. Everything here has been planned and worked on for the last 5 months. As usual, I have done my best to make sure everything is high quality. And as usual, I took no consideration of budget lol. I mention this only because of the price. It was originally going to be $99.00 but I went with $92 because it seems more apt – 1992 was when the label started after all…

Jimmy J & Cru-L-T - Take Me Away (Slipmatt Remix) PSK Vocal Edit

Obviously these 2 phenomenal artists deserve to be in the Hardcore Hall Of Fame on their own merit. Jimmy J, owner of the Remix Records shop and one 3rd of the Happy Hardcore trio, Triple J and Cru-L-T (DJ Luna-C), the legend, the pioneer, the master, the creator of all mankind.... but when they combined, they were immense and produced some of Hardcore's most important records. 
Their full on relentless, perfectly executed breakbeats, old skool stab patterns and uplifting pianos seriously captured that early to mid 90's feel down to a tee. They have so many great tracks and remixes under their belt.
The monumental triumph 'Take Me Away' was quite possibly one of the first hardcore tracks I ever heard and to this day, still gives me that ultimate rush. They also had an international hit with crowd favourite, 'Six Days'. The track's highly recognisable breaks and percussion give it energy throughout and the simple, yet memorable vocals take it to another level. Their remix of E'voke's Runaway just oozes class. So good that I had to play both the Original Mix and, in my opinion, the far superior '97 Remix. The duo were indeed, true masters of the 'remix' and it definitely shows on their version of DJ Demand's bouncy techno stomper, 'Dark & Light'. This could just be one of the greatest remixes ever. Complete with added Snap samples to bring us into the 'light' deep into the track. It's just a stroke of genius.
Jimmy J & Cru-L-T came up with the goods time after time and will forever be one of the greatest ever Happy Hardcore duos.
