"Koala Karnival—there's so much to say about this incredible event. After attending multiple editions, I felt inspired to delve into the softer side of music. It was then that I realized KK is more than just ambient music; it's a space where you can express yourself through soundscapes that range from ambient to movie scores, video game soundtracks, slowed-down beats, vocals, and beyond. It's truly a playground for the mind, where artists can craft stories and journeys that captivate the imagination. With that in mind, I created this set as a way to grieve and process the passing of my beloved dog, Mexx. This set allowed me to pay tribute to him, crafted with a vision of us collectively guiding his spirit to the cosmos and back. That was the inspiration behind the music, and I hope it resonates with you as deeply as it did with me." - Tony Kassia

We kicked off our second season with this lovely journey by Solei. An instant reminder as to why we love exploring the ambient realms together. Captured from the first track, we all held our breath and dove in deep as Solei took us on a wave of intricately textured melodies enveloped in emotion. Karefully kurated, this set was not only a testament to her heart, but the feelings of the collective at large.

Merci Montreal, once again 🇨🇦. After exploring many different versions of myself, I'm truly happy to finally share the most genuine and deep side of my music—the one that comes straight from my soul. It felt like the perfect moment, in the perfect venue, with the most incredible people surrounding me. 🫂

Special thanks to everyone who braved the insane snowstorms ❄️ to join us. Your energy made everything even more magical.

I’m beyond grateful to @ellezinck and @tonykassia for creating a little heaven in the middle of the chaos 🏙️🐨. The vibe they’ve curated, in collaboration with @koalakarnival x @frontrite x @frontrepublic, was truly something special.

A huge shout-out to @dave.gogan for capturing such beautiful moments through his lens 👁️, and to @michaelkhayata for the mesmerizing lights and insane lasers 🪩🚀—you really elevated the experience.

b.e.l.o.v.e.d (Ambient Mix) [Live @ Koala Karnival]

"I’m not a DJ, but after kreating Koala Karnival, my love for ambient grew even stronger, and I knew I would one day play. Impatiently, I waited for the right story to tell, the kind that my heart couldn’t contain, and that words just couldn’t capture… For a few years, I had been feeling called to experience a 3 day dark retreat. I’m not really sure why, and to this day I don’t think I can fully gasps why. But I’ve learned to lean into those callings and trust the process. So new years of 2025, I did just that. Three days in complete darkness: nothing but instruments, my breath, and my thoughts. Over time I fell into a deep sense of presence, and slowly, I began to feel the darkness. Not as an absence of light, but as a living animate presence, and the remembrance that it is because of the darkness, that we can see the stars. 

This soundscape is my attempt to translate that journey through music. Participants wore blindfolds throughout, so they too could meet the darkness firsthand. And I invite you to do the same. 

There's a quote I really love on darkness that i'll leave below:
