Berlin-based producer Kaufmann unveils her powerful new single “Mother” on VOLTA Records. This evocative release is accompanied by two standout remixes from Tao Andra and Mila Journeé, each bringing a distinct vibe to the energetic original.

“The vocal is undoubtedly at the centre of the track,” Kaufmann explains. “I took inspiration from a well-known System of a Down track and placed the mother at the heart of the story. It's actually my own voice, which I processed with AI, among other tools. I wanted to combine the energies of my favourite genres: techno with some psy and a pinch of metal."

Tao Andra’s remix takes the track into hypnotic, tribal-influenced techno terrain, while Mila Journeé lends her signature melodic touch with a cinematic, driving reinterpretation.

“This is my second time releasing with VOLTA Records,” says Mila Journeé. “The first was a two-track EP that did really well, and now I'm back with a remix of a really cool track by Kaufmann, at the invitation of Victor, a great friend and production partner who I love working with. So it's all about good music, friendship and good vibes!”

KØBALTT is originally from Northern France. A DJ/Producer, he took his first steps as a DJ in the late 1990s. Initially a fan of the groove, powerful bass lines, and captivating rhythms of electro hip-hop, he gradually allowed himself to be drawn to more electronic and underground sounds throughout the 2000s. Since then, he has offered us powerful, smooth, and selective techno through his dj set and productions on the LUNE, WINKED, and RENESANZ RECORDS labels, among others. Inspired by artists such as TIMMO, Balthazar & JackRocK, Ignacio Arfeli, and Oscar L, KØBALTT inevitably draws us into his personal Tech House/Techno and Peak Time universe, boosted by a heavy, captivating, and undeniably dancefloor-friendly rhythm!
