Cette herbe, c'était de la Blueberry. Ce n'était pas la première fois que je mangeais ce genre de gâteau, je n'appréhendais pas l'expérience. C'est très sereinement que j'ai pris un cookie posé sur la table pour le manger. À ce moment-là, je ne pensais pas pouvoir perdre le contrôle. Ce genre de gâteau a l'habitude de me faire effet très rapidement. Au bout d'une demi-heure, je sentais déjà des effets assez forts. Ce n'était que la montée et les effets étaient beaucoup plus puissants comparés à ma dernière expérience. J'essaye de rester tranquille mais je sens au fond de moi le THC qui prend le contrôle total de mon corps et de mon esprit. Mes sens commencent à être altérés profondément. L'eau dans ma bouche ressemble à du coton et le plaid dans lequel je suis enroulé n'a jamais été aussi doux. Je deviens hyper-perceptif. J'ai l'impression de voir au ralentit, parfois en accéléré. Les gens se découpent parfaitement du décor, je ne vois plus une seule image, mais des millions d'images superposées qui forment un tableau. J'ai peur. Je ne veux pas sortir, je ne veux même pas penser à l'idée de sortir. Je ferme la porte. Je ne suis plus du tout connecté à la réalité. Pour moi, nous sommes cinq sur cette planète terre. Et je ne peux m'empêcher d'avoir cette réflexion sur le couple parfait et hasardeux que forme la molécule de THC avec mes récepteurs postsynaptiques.

Our next premiere is a SDB remix of a track titled 'Genesis Reading' taken from Pier's 'Divided Attention' EP due to be released on Amsterdam based label Märked.

Pier blasts a fresh wind in the saturated French scene and is joined by veteran JoeFarr and artists of the moment Corroid and SDB. Divided Attention could be an ode to realization that life happens when one is busy making other plans. To be able to be more efficient in our day-to-day lives, divided attention allows us to process and carry out multiple tasks at a time. In music however, different sounds – which can be seen as stimuli – are often organized in a rhythm and are subconsciously heard as one piece, the composition.

Kicking things off with Genesis Reading by evoking all kinds of dreamy imagery only to be fully straightened by a hard kick and punishing percussion. The harmony of sounds – of which the sneaky eagle-like sounding stab – makes you reminisce about dusty older times with hints to eurodance.

On remix duties SDB brings to the table an engine driving on short synth notes, arpeggiated and amp’ed. Also here the track benefits from the vocals delivered by Pier: they add a sense of nostalgia. Moreover SDB’s signature touch is greatly heard in the continuation of the track, pushing the track forward with effectively tuned overdriven synth hits.

When not releasing on their own high quality label the duo continues to release music via respected imprints like Dynamic Reflection and Rekids. They’re also in demand remixers having been invited by Phantasy to remix Daniel Avery ‘Projector’ and Boysnoize to remix Djedjotronic ‘Take Me Down’, not to mention Rekids for separate renditions of two legendary Radio Slave tracks, ‘Vision’ and ‘Grindhouse’. Together they share a paralleled vision for techno without setting any boundaries which is suitably reflected in all their releases and performances. 

‘Die Zunge Des Todes’ kicks off with vast synth waves fluttering over the emphatic kicks and tense modulations giving off an energetic yet captivating atmosphere to begin. ‘Bisswunden’ tastefully delivers driving percussion, otherworldly oscillations and energetic melodies transcending the emotions into a hypnotic state before progressing into ‘Blick Des Bösen’ through clattering drum grooves pacing around haunting atmospheres. ‘Kein Entkommen’ finishes things off with a breakstinged beat, mystical tones and alleviating sound design.

We know it. You know it. Alignment is here to stay. Delivering the next round of high quality tracks on vinyl for VN043, his „Orderly Chaos“ EP mirrors our suspicious times like nothing else but techno can. 

With its main title „Orderly Chaos“ consisting of well balanced leads chasing a never ending drum programming, the consistent kick drum does what its used to do: thumping your already vibrating stomach. An early classic already, with a reasoned arrangement attached. 

We’re about to enter quicker territories on A2 by the name of „Future Dancefloor“. Clearly focussed on satisfying the biggest sound systems around, once possible again. For the time being, a forward moving rhythm infiltrates small vocal hits on this one, piercing the perfect state of rave. 

„Into The Unknown“ follows this mantra perfectly. Detailed synth placements evolve a steadily riding hi-hat shuffle, incorporating the flowing drumming which comes with it. On top of it, energising pad lines do their thing in catching us during a perfect breakdown. 

Second b-side flip is „Dark Space“, with the name saying it all. A distinctively darker sound atmosphere is paired with modulated patterns, systematically pushing the groove underneath. It’s a next stage of production class, with harmonic elements driving one’s imagination further. A perfect closing for your next, physical music purchase.
