Catarina is a vinyl enthusiast, and has been collecting vinyls since 2009.
Her collection varies from all sorts of genres, mostly dub techno, house to detroit techno. She also has a passion for analog gears and drum machines, such as TR-909, 808, 303 etc.

"as a reflection of what the sea means to me, so is the water one of the strongest elements in this planet, it can cut through rocks and find ways through almost anywhere. With water it stirs the most emotion there is, it can be soothing, deep, raw, wild etc.

So, for this mix I´ve chosen mostly dub techno which is one of my favourite genres, its deep and has a great sound. And the tracks are from chill to more dancy and rougher beats, such as a trip to the beach can be, chill, fun and energetic."

"We always wished to have it (at least we thought since the beginning of the year), but never got the possibility to do it: Our very own Plastic City Radio Show. So we recorded an imagined radio show hosted by Kriss Dior. And who could be better for this job as the man with the right radio show experience: Kriss Dior aka Bassface Sascha?" As Bassface Sascha he is one of the german Drum and Bass pioneers and started his first own radio show “Reload” on Evosonic Radio in 1997. From 1999 to 2003 Sascha had his second radio show called “Outbreak “ on hr/XXL till the radio station was closed and transformed to You.FM.
            
        Kriss Dior, who is one of the early Plastic City artists, made an outstanding DJ mix for this release. Starting with soft ambient and breakbeat tunes, he lifts his mix up to the next level when the four-to-the-floor rhythm arrives in his mix. Then he leads us through all kinds of atmospheres that are possible in TechHouse and House. Using the different kinds of kicks and bass in a very intense and interesting order as well as handling with chords of different rhythmic styles shows the experience of 17 years working as a DJ. The mix breathes, it pulsates between strain and relaxation. Bassface Sascha, who is also known from his pseudonyms  Blue Mauritio, Ghostwriter, Mental Bombin, Raiders Of The Lost Art, Richterscale, B.O.R.G. or Smoke Starr, knows the right moments to set accents to hold the suspense, keeping you on the move. After 77 minutes, 20 seconds and 23 tracks later, Kriss Dior brings his Plastic City Radio Show, filled with a few jingles of course, to an end with some surely surprising downbeat sounds and we listened to the huge DJ skills of a man, who experienced and formed a decade of electronic music in more than one genre. On Plastic City the founder of Smokin’ Drum Recordings who also appeared several times as guest VJ on MTV and Viva, fuses his unique sound together with strong TechHouse grooves and relaxed house sounds. And now there is nothing more to say but enjoy the mix, listen to the seamless changing of melodies and let the manyfold rhythms lead you in the right mood to have a special electronic music experience.
            
        We just like to add that while working on this CD it has resulted that we actually produce our own “Plastic City Radio Show”.  On 13th of august, 22 pm (Central European Time), we started the weekly "Plastic City Radio Show" on Radio Ibiza Sonica, presented by <a href="http://www.contact-booking.de" target="_blank">Contact Booking</a> and <a href="http://www.tracktracker.com" target="_blank">TrackTracker</a>. Every week Gorge and Greg Silver will play the deepest and hottest Tech-House tunes on the island. Since november 2008 you can also listen to the "Plastic City Radio Show" every saturday (10 - 11 pm) on the German based web radio station <a href="http://www.welovehouse.fm/en/show/plastic-city-radio-show" target="_blank">we love house fm</a>.

subspiele: why did you call the mix "Gaia”?
Luijo: I wanted to create this particular project a very long time ago. It includes both audio and visuals. It is called “Gaia” as a reference to Mother Earth’s beauty. This offers you a pretty good idea of the journey’s mood: both light and dark paths as the music enmeshes the ambient.

subspiele: where did you record the mix?
Luijo: I recorded the mix in my studio in Santo Domingo, but not all the execution of the set was done here. The track and vinyl selection was carefully done in a mountain house owned by my friend Mike, located in Jarabacoa, La Vega, Dominican Republic, which is the site showed at the video. It helped me create a link between the actual mood I wanted to transfer with the music and the scenery.

Subspiele: which is the song that you recently liked the most?
Luijo: There is so much music I can’t really tell which tune I am currently liking the most, but in this project the song: Tomas Rubeck – Factions by ESHU Records, stands out in distinction. This deep techno record settles down as the mood specifier of the journey.

subspiele: how do you feel now?
Luijo: I feel fantastic, eager to start new music-based projects I have been planning along. This year I’ll be traveling around Europe and North America, playing, searching for new material and nurturing my inspiration. Also, I’ll keep collaborating with Arcticgrooves, Subspiele Records and some international radio stations and record labels accordingly with more mixes and productions.

subspiele: how should it go on?
Luijo: To keep sharing more music with the biggest humility possible is always my way to go on.
