December is a special time of year for most of the world. As children we look forward to it with eager anticipation of all of the shiny new toys and presets we will get this season.  As adults our priorities hopefully shift some and we worry more about the gift of giving than the act of receiving.  We imagine making friends and loved-ones, new ones as well as old, happy in some small way. We envision participating with them in their life for a moment or two and sharing some form of intimacy.  We celebrate the opportunity to give love with the intention of building lasting relationships, and if we are wise enough, we let go of expectations of immediate reciprocation and realize the act of giving is itself its own reward...

These projects have been two decades in the making and represent a return to traditional music composition, engaging song-writing, and the pure passion of emotional story-telling. "Autumn Rains" is music inspired by the spirit of Agape. It is an album dedicated to the concept of spiritual love and universal compassion clothed in the metaphor of transcendental natural beauty. It is an album that simultaneously expresses deep love for both the creator as well as the creation. It is said God gave us music so that we could pray without words. It could be added that nature was provided as an example of exactly how to do this effectively. In this spirit, Autumn Rains is a prayer of gratitude for the opportunity to learn from the natural beauty of this world, and an expression of a sense of respect for the inescapable universal equality that nature imposes. It humbly attempts to capture deep feelings of awe, granduer, idealism, and a belief in the innate goodness of the world even when we all face exceptionally hard lessons.

Koen Janssen (born February 6, 1981) is a composer from Belgium, currently residing with Warner Chappell PM. 

My debut album, “Alive” (2019), released worldwide on October 30th 2019 tells a musical story about the journey through life. From “Essence Of Life” too “Rebirth”. Koen Janssen also collaborated on this album with Cozin (a Belgian band) and singers Nele Uyttendaele and Finlay Van Wymeersch. His wife Stefanie Wauters even has a spot as a vocalist on his track “Run Wild, Live Free“. The album will be released by Warner Chappell PM on Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play Music,… 

Born in Dendermonde and raised in Hamme, he started his passion for music at a young age. When he was 7 he used his brother’s room as concert hall and with a help of his trustworthy pencil, he conducted his own imaginary orchestra on the classical tunes of Mozart and Beethoven. At the age of 10, he attended the local music school where he learned to play the piano. 6 years later he was the proud owner of an upright piano, a gift from his parents. Every day after school, he sat behind his piano and according to his mood, he played happy or sad tunes. When puberty kicked in, his musical preferences wandered a bit. He started going to parties and got influenced by electro and pounding techno music. Eventually he started to perform as DJ at numerous parties and clubs. Not much later he came in contact with the band Cité Soleil who where on the search for a singer. Together they toured the East-Flanders region for 6 years. After this period of reggae and ska filled performances, he started his own band called InnerSyn with a good friend and an American singer. He gained a following on audio distribution platform SoundCloud when he released his single “Almost Found My Peace” (a collaboration with Oliver Sadie). This brought him back on the road of classical/orchestral music. Koen has grown in his musical career thanks to his many collaborations with various artists like Dirk Maassen, Fivos Valachis, Milana, IceRequim, Zefora, Achazia,…
