This is my first time trying to make something for the Sample Challenge on https://www.fullorchestra.com/. It was indeed a challenge to deal with the limited time and finally let go, though having the feeling of "oh, but there is still so much to do" or "but now I have another idea" and so on. But now here you go with this uncompleted track of mine and in the meantime it has become what it is: A step. Construction. Illusion. Longing. An unfinished work. The beauty of imperfection.

One Foot In Barcelona

Seit langer Zeit habe ich mich einfach mal wieder an die Gitarre gesetzt und ein Liedchen komponiert. Es ist ein One Take Shot, der jeglicher Perfektion entbehrt, aber es ist genau deshalb wahrscheinlich das ehrlichste, was ich seit langem von mir zeige. Denn Ehrlichkeit ist gerade das einzige, was für mich noch Sinn macht in diesen Zeiten.

This is my second time participating in the Sample Challenge by Full Orchestra
I didn´t have time to properly finish it (as always😅) and something really didn´t work right with the sound (guess my computer was already on the edge; short after it totally gave up). But that´s what makes it that dirty and make you feel like sitting in a hot, rusty medieval tub, totally lost, floating through space.

Dies ist ein Track aus dem Solo Theaterstück "Frau Minister" von und mit Jule Torhorst (auf dem Foto zu sehen), wofür ich die Musik und das Sounddesign gemacht habe. Der gesprochene Text wirkt ohne den Teil der im Stück von Jule Torhorst live über die Musik gesprochen wird vielleicht etwas seltsam, aber ich wollte ihn dennoch nicht weglassen.

Another track for the Full Orchestra Sample Challenge. The given sample to work with was the recording of Palestinian kids playing and laughing. I tried to use as much of the sample as possible and put it into various tonal and rythmical variations. Deeply influenced by a TripHop/Ambient sound of the late 90s/early 2000 with a slight psychedelic touch.

Koeter is German slang for a filthy dog. Kotek is the polish word for kitten and was the name of the cat in my childhood and we were a pretty good team. And so were my dog and I. Now they are both gone, but they still live within me and represent the duality of my soul. Once a filthy dog, begging for a bone, looking for a home. Then a straying cat, a cute devil, touch me, don't touch me! And all of this shall find a home in my artist life as an actor (Tammo Messow) and the DJ/Producer Koeter Kotek.
Acting is my profession, music is my passion. They belong together, as my profession doesn´t work without passion and the passion becomes more and more profession.
