Enigmatic singer-songwriter-producer Jorgie graces the universe with her debut LP; ten tracks of cosmic bliss,
inspired not only by her fondness of the golden years of Trip-hop and Eletronica, but also her connection with
mother nature and the cosmos, fittingly titled Celestial.
Jorgie grew up on a musical diet of Massive Attack, Morcheeba, et al, and this is clearly displayed in her first outing
as an artist. What is unique about Jorgie, is that she wrote, sang, and produced all of the songs featured on
Celestial, and upon listening, we think you’ll agree, that’s pretty damn impressive. She describes the album as a
three-year time-capsule that defines the early stages of her music career, a period of time where she has
experienced substantial growth and learned a lot about herself as an artist.
Celestial begins with its title-track, an introduction to Jorgie’s mastery that is cinematic in nature, luring the listener
in with an intriguing string chord progression laid over a distorted synth that culminate to introduce Jorgie’s vocal
prowess. This is the perfect opener for the album, and the remaining tracks don’t disappoint. Colours, Paddys and
Mirrors lend subtle influence from acid, house and breakbeat genres, respectively and respectfully. Whilst Soul
Moon, What Is and Taboo take us on a deeper excursion. Chris Dawkins features on the reggae-tinged I Dare You,
adding another dimension to the album, and Love Knows and Playing On My Mind have a more original Trip-hop
feel, albeit with Jorgie’s unique handiwork on show.
With Jorgie’s debut album we hope the listener is immersed in the young artist’s unique brand of electronic music,
a brand she will continue to develop and perfect, with plans for a live show in the works, and fresh music due to
appear on the horizon in the coming months...

Shout out to The Get Down on Hype Machine, Walmer and Moomba+ for the review, "Music production is easier than its ever been, and too often the convenience of downloading a program, pumping out a few beats and following the “popular” mass sound dilutes what could be a plethora of new ideas, melodies and knowledge.

Fortunately, not everybody is falling victim to the cookie cutter bandwagon, and almost every day we’re happy to uncover new artists that are really pushing the limits and creating their own vibe. Case and point: San Francisco-based up-and-comer Kameronessi who just dropped a new original mix, appropriately titled ”Nomadic Language“.

Regardless of your listening space, this song has the power to transport you far far away, be it within our galaxy or another. The sound structure and overabundance of instrumentation are unlike anything we’ve experienced in quite some time, and the world-music-flow and tropical-feeling percussion bring to mind thoughts of greats like Govinda and The Orb.

Another reviewer probably said it best: “This track really does transport you. Probably best played at sunrise outdoors for a festival.” 

Now, picture yourself on the Polo grounds at Coachella, Glastonbury (insert favorite festival HERE_____) having partied the night away you dance to the beat of the drums, ringing in a new day full of opportunities and great music with thousands of other like-minded individuals."

In recent years, Russian independent scene has repeatedly shown that our country is rich in musical talent and real nuggets. Modern technologies allow to create, without leaving home, and sometimes without leaving the couch. Someone is limited to only the tip of the iceberg, and almost every day churning out the same type of backing tracks, but someone is trying to get the most out of these technologies and their music, "I". The latter can be safely attributed and producer from Siberia under the name King Shi. To work on their new full-length album "The Asian Wind", he spent more than a year, carefully polishing his sound and selecting the best of their own projects.
The album - a true example of downtempo-quality music from Russia, which is not ashamed to appear in front of and peers from the EU and the U.S. and western public before the election. It is worth noting that the release of "The Asian Wind" will be held on the European netlabel Dusted Wax Kingdom in the first half of July 2013. This well-balanced, high-quality and emotional music definitely deserves support and not get one in your circle of players.
