'Walking Tree' was written in the early 90s when I was living in a teepee in the forest. One day on my way to the spring the beech trees sang this song to me. I introduced it to the European Rainbow Family and it became very popular. It has been sung since then in international Rainbow Gatherings, festivals, kinder gardens, schools, universities and in ceremonies worldwide. The song has been translated into different languages. 

Today the Amazonian Rainforests are burning and this song is inviting us to remember more than ever that without the trees no life is possible for us on this planet. The forests are our lungs and the trees give us oxygen and breath of life besides food and medicine. 

The earth is our body and what we do to her we do to ourselves and the future generations. We cant afford to cut any more trees on this planet. It is suicidal and self-destructive. We are called to step into guardianship of the trees of life and the living earth for our children and the future generations.

I heard my friend @davidmichaelparry play this song during a jam session and I was instantly enchanted by the chords he played on his guitar and the vibe this song carried. He said he learned it from the taita that he works with in plant medicine ceremonies and that he loves to sing this song for people in ceremony when it gets topsy turvy to clam them down and create a soothing effect.

I invited him to the studio to record it and together we alchemized it into this beautiful journey. The flutes you can hear are self made by Dave using pelican feathers.

May this track inspire you to never loose trust and spread your feathered wings and fly.

Kokopelli is recognized as a cross-cultural bridge-maker, medicine person and humanitarian artist working with indigenous people around the planet.

As a recording artist, sacred world music producer, multi-instrumentalist and expert in Sound Medicine he offers his instruments as prayer tools and keys to initiate self-healing processes. Doors of expanded perception are being unlocked through his mystic songs and medicine chants to remember and commune with Source. 

The sound of his unique string instrument known as Tritar or Worldstick carries his Heartsongs, healing mantras and sung prayers into the world as an invitation to practice the Yoga of Song and sing along to co-create a unified energy field of grace where miracles can take place.
