Just some dumb music with tonal influences from some UK dance tracks written in the style of a Famicom game from '92 that has quite the cult following.

Too bad this was before I figured out how to actually reconstruct the instruments from the NSF tracks of said game.

Made using 0CC FamiTracker back in late 2020, and also the first chiptune sent here.

The year went by rather fast, apologies for the fact that there hasn't been much output this year, simply put I haven't really been up to serious musicing like I was back in 2020, mainly as a result of spending more time learning music theory (and also procrastinating). 

Plus, I recently got COVID and was bedridden for a while, it was a miracle I was even able to get this done at all.

However, I wish everyone a good new year, good health, good life and a good day (or night).

The TREKPLAY computer is on life support so I recorded this with a new audio interface I got a few months ago.

Underworld (Cracktro Cover)

5th place MIDI entry of mine for Spring Tracks XI.

If there's ever been an MS-GS MIDI equivalent to Capcom's horrible sound design, this track would probably be the epitome of such.

Weekend's Outing (Spring Tracks XI)

An MT-32 track I've submitted to Spring Tracks XI, somehow won 2nd place/silver MT-32.

Funnily enough, this was essentially my first foray into MT-32 music making.

However, I could've gone a long way with altering some of the patches via MT-32's (confusingly documented) SysEx.

Indifferent to All (Spring Tracks XI)

A track I've submitted to BotB's Match Mayhem major, (somehow) won third place.

I don't have much to say regarding this track, aside from this being the first time I've utilized a pedal point for real, and that my only justification for this track being 'wildchip' is that it uses a MIDI format not present in BotB's format selection (MIDIs technically count as a chip format, per the Lyceum)

Recorded straight from my SC-88Pro through an audio interface I got around December of last year.

Unfortunately, the TREKPLAY computer's essentially dead.

Nagoya Salaryman (Match Mayhem)

A Konami VRC7-only entry I've submitted to BotB's VRC VII major, won third place (somehow), and also had at least one person keep coming back to it due to its sound design (is it a testament to something I'm capable of? I don't know)

One thing's for certain and that's that I'm very comfortable with 2-operator FM chips.

Not sure what genre would this track fall into.

Near Kepler (VRC VII)

Felt like practicing the arcane early 2000's art of sampling, chopping up and altering some Windows XP and 2000 error sounds for music.

Everything is sourced from what's mentioned above, even the kicks (which is just the Windows XP ding sound that's amplified till it hardclipped into a square wave)

A mod48k (48kb module file) entry I've submitted to Summer Chip XII, won first place for the format.

4 voices, no arps, and all sounds were sourced from Audacity raw data imports of .exe files from System32.
