Dieses Jahr durfte ich neben dem Mitwirken an der 'Seebühne' auch als 'ATARI SPACE ENGINE' die 'Afterhour' der 'Mulde' eröffnen. Ich gebe zu, ich war super aufgeregt, da ich zuvor mein Setup stark verändern musste durch technische Herausforderungen. Auf der Bühne war das aber schnell verflogen und ihr habt bestätigt, das ich 'hier' weitermachen kann. Danke für den gegenseitigen Energieaustausch!

This year I was allowed to open the 'Afterhour' at the ‘Mulde‘ as ‘ATARI SPACE ENGINE‘ besides being part of the ‘Seebühne‘. I admit I was super excited, as I had to change my setup a lot beforehand due to technical challenges. On stage, however, this was quickly dispelled and you confirmed that I can continue 'here'. Thank you for the mutual energy exchange!

hi everyone,
hoping this finds you all well.
i´d like to say something about this mix.
it´s been a very big task for me to do that. 
And i still wonder and i am not entirely sure
whether it´s been the right decision to put it out there. 
I´d like to explain that a bit:

For me the most important part in playing music in public is the interaction with the people on the dance floor, close by the decks, almost in reach, in eye contact with the dancers, to feel what the track does to me and to you, to get lost in it, to give space to that very intimate moment which feels more like a performance to me, where it actually can get very personal, even private.
It´s always an intensive experience for me that is shared between certain people at a certain time for a certain time length at a particular protected place which is guidanced by the music.
With a certain power that a good sound system - which can make 
the whole journey even more joyful - some great light as it has also such a big effect on the whole atmosphere.
it´s always a big challenge for me to have the courage to go on that trip because there is never a guarantee that we can hook, that a connection will happen. That this over the top feeling, that there is only music that moves and pulls our body around for couple of hours, does appear.

So playing records in a mix without all that – under entirely different circumstances, at home with obviously no one around – made that project in a way so special for me. 

i imagined to be with you while playing and that helped a lot. 

Thanks for taking time reading this, i hope you enjoy the music, it´s meant to be played „loud“, preferential on a nice sound system or through headphones to catch all the catchy sounds the artists used in their creations to make our heads and legs go spin.

Johannes Albert @ Garbicz Festival (2025)

Garbicz Festival. Sunday morning at the Buk Corner Cocktail Bar from 10 am to 1pm.. the last 3 hours of 24 hours of music in good company with the Giegling community. This stage is my favorite at the festival, the only covered dance floor and a very intimate spot by the lake. Last year I was hanging here at exactly this time during the festival with a friend in the rain and dreamed about returning here at this moment in the festival to play some records... and there we were. 

Deeply grateful for the opportunity to realize it. Thanks to Lina, Andrei, Fritz, and the whole crew. Particular thanks to Dragana, Bea, Konsti and Gilles  for the support.

I brought two record bags, one for the rain and one for the sun... it ended up being a moody wander through bits of both them as the sun teased us through the trees and the morning fog burned off. 

The energy at the festival all the way through was exceptional this year. Everyone delivered. I haven't been on a dance floor like the one at the end of Sonja and Dyed's b2b to close monday eve in quite some time.

After her beautiful Ignota EP for Urge To Dance, we could not resist and had to have more of MANTi. This time, with 'Closure', she showcases another, more driving and darkly emotional side of her music. A powerful and uncompromising track, 'Closure' is an impressive percussive journey, offering shifting textures and cinematic tension - a real peak-time dance-floor stomper. 

Sebastian Duarte returns to our VA series with his Misterio. Pulsating bass-lines, proper groove and steady flow of energy captive the late night party emotions. A fine balance between depth and atmospheric vibes, Misterio delivers what you would expect from the Miami-based Artist.

Last, but not least, we are closing our annual VA with What You Want - a mesmerising debut by Mauricio Haddad. A driving, yet somehow, slightly hypnotic cut, What You Want blends richness of drums and percussions, with dreamy synths and a mysterious vocal for an emotional anthem-like closing of our annual Reasons 04!
