Maruwa channels forceful energy, effortlessly blending trance, progressive house and techno in her own productions and on dance-floors worldwide. Her signature sound combines the nostalgic elements of the '90s and early 2000s, enriched with a modern twist. Now based in (and inspired by) Frankfurt, she has carved her niche with a number of multifaceted EPs on labels like Steel City Dance Discs and X-Kalay. Her remixes, on both scene veterans like Dusky, Skream, Catz ‘n’ Dogz, and underground artists like Azo, Subsism, Denham Audio and others have found their way into the hearts of ravers around the world. One can catch her delivering a long opening at Robert Johnson or a day-time set at Intercell, igniting vigorous mornings at Panorama Bar, or navigating the deeper nights in Nante’s Macadam.

"This mix is my experiment with a darker, deeper sound while still keeping the bold, raw energy vibe that resonates with me. I was inspired by early 2000s, when new genres which just appeared still had an underground edge and its groove wasn’t as polished as it became later. Here, you’ll find hypnotic percussion, dark progressive, and distorted electro house synths that hit with a sharp attitude. I wanted to create something that slowly pulls you in, like a night journey you don’t want to return from."

Premier épisode de mon projet de série de podcast documentaire “Et toi, c’est comment ta vie de DJ?”.

Ce projet a pour objectif de réfléchir sur notre scène, et de parler de la vie des artistes de musiques électroniques sous le prisme de la santé mentale. Entre janvier et juin 2024 je me suis donc entretenue avec des artistes mais aussi des expert•es (professionnelle de santé, journaliste, activiste etc) pour évoquer les différents enjeux auxquels peuvent être confronté•es les artistes de musiques électroniques. 

Toutes les interviews ont été enregistrées dans le studio de la Gaité Lyrique que je remercie chaleureusement pour leur accueil en résidence. 

Il y aura 4 épisodes thématiques en tout. Voici donc le premier qui aborde la question du métier passion!

For Weeeirdos 21 we have a podcast from the very talented Raymond V @raymondv222 - The Italian artist's relationship with Techno began in her childhood, influenced by her father's taste in 80s electronic rock and the synths that naturally accompanied it, which still remain rooted in her sound today. Taking inspiration from the German techno of the early 2000s while adding her own twist, Raymond V lulls listeners into a deep sense of cathartic hypnosis, frequently engulfing the dancefloor in storms of ambient-industrial, yet driving them through this with warm, refined grooves.

Ya salió el primer track con el que regresé a producir después de 8 años donde decidí clavarme en restaurantes, negocios, bares y mil y un cosas, la idea fue de Tamara y aterrizada por mi .

Esta es una canción de techno específica para ir cerrando la noche por ahí de las 4/5 de la mañana para regresar a esas épocas de nostalgia Retro pop, con sonidos envolventes e hipnóticos. Buscamos que te pierdas en las vocales y que recuerdes que nadie puede decidir por ti y mucho menos controlarte. Seguramente cuando estés dentro de los efectos de hipnosis, vas a relacionar este tema con alguna situación que estés viviendo en tu vida diaria y quisimos revivir la canción por todo lo que está pasando con la violencia hacia las mujeres. 

El ep trae el mix y máster y aparte una producción de @th3os.mx  el ingeniero y curador  de @controlla.mx  para que abarquen la versión de bpm  más lenta para todos aquellos que están en el indiedance o darkdisco.

mombacker - No Controll3s (Controlla)

A homemade one take re-creation of my set from MERGE, a collaborative free party on 6 Sept 2025 ran by some of Meanjin/Brisbane's leading techno collectives. For my 9:30-11pm set I wanted to bring the audience from a slower, more housey vibe, up towards the peak time driving techno that our DJs are known for.

Being a re-creation (not recorded on the night), this isn't exactly accurate, but I at least know the rough order I played my tracks in. I made a few extra mistakes live and I guess I also played a bit slower, because this has a few extra tracks on the end which I didn't get to play. As always, track list is below:
