The idea behind Metapattern is to explore that complex range of diversity from the early 90s all the way up to the present day. Whether it's in the live or DJ context, the mission is to deliver an improvised undulating expedition of blended styles and eras to the point of physical and emotional ecstasy. 

The current focus is on 90s minimalism, expression and groove with a modern touch. Notable releases can be found on Southern Lights and Bomphcast (Au), MALöR (De) and Hayes Collective (Pt).

Originally from Paris, M-ZR embodies the bubbling energy of the French techno scene. A seasoned DJ since 2017, he quickly established his distinctive mark in the music world by founding the Void Records collective in 2017, later transformed into a label in 2020.
With years spent exploring the intricacies of electronic music, M-ZR has navigated through a variety of venues: from free parties to festivals, clubs to warehouses. His dynamic performances plunge audiences into a sonic journey where each track is an invitation to lose oneself in the frenetic rhythms of contemporary techno.
Over the years, M-ZR has skillfully navigated the subtleties of techno subgenres. Today, his project embraces a daring sonic spectrum: from hypnotic/mental techno to groove/hardgroove, and into fast techno. By curating lots of projects on Void Records, he became a professional in digging and finding gems. Regardless of the style he explores in his sets, the consistent thread remains immutable: it has to drive, it has to groove!

Benales is a DJ and producer known for his unique blend of raw, dark, and deep techno and house, with nods to Detroit influences. Based in France, he has been making waves in the underground techno scene since the late 90s. With an extensive vinyl collection and a talent for selecting tracks that resonate with crowds, Benales has become a respected DJ in Europe, regularly playing at top clubs such as Tresor, Rex Club, Radion or Le Sucre, and sharing the stage with renowned artists such as DVS1, Zadig, Surgeon, Steve Bicknell, Dj Pete, and James Ruskin.

Aside from his skills behind the decks, Benales is also a gifted music producer. He has released several EPs and remixes on acclaimed labels such as Sino (Technasia label), KEY Vinyl (Freddy K label), Mitsubasa, Analog Solutions, Knotweed, Diffuse Reality, and more. In addition, he is a signed artist on Construct Re- Form label, with several releases on the horizon, including a VA on K S R, CRF, Matterwave, and S.lab.

Benales' talent for music production has earned him international recognition, especially for his releases "Elements part 1 & part 2". His unique style and skills as a DJ and producer have cemented his status as a respected figure in the underground techno community, known for his powerful and unforgettable.

Asymmetric main man Inigo Kennedy returns to his label with a superb five track EP 'Butterfly Effects' closing out a busy 2024 for the label.

Opening track 'Bit Glitter' sets a jittering lead against a gritty driving rhythm; simple yet deadly. Up next, the title track 'Butterfly Effects' pulsates in the best of ways; meditative Detroit inspired techno. 'A Heavy Agenda' is just that; heavy kicks and intentionally attention-grabbing washes of sound. 'On The Ropes' follows, a solid kick and playful echoes shifting in frequencies and timbre as the track progresses and so hard to resist. Finishing the release is 'Contingency', a pure slice of the Asymmetric signature sound and pulling hard on the original techniques which made the label stand out when it started in 1999.
