The castle corpse is fit for dwelling
The stones were laid by mortal men
The people sheltered lose their meaning 
The need for shelter never ends

The crop row people call for order
The painter stained their perfect plans
The introduction of the combine 
The painter longs for wilder lands
 
The ages span is overwhelming
The tale as old as time itself
The constellations￼ lose their meaning
The crop row people claim the wealth

But you were born into the age of ignorance
Your captors curse you simply can’t avoid
And it will cling to us long after you are dead
in your lifetime you will glimmer in the void 

The crippled words will rattle cages
The cages needn’t hide the door
The call to venture will be answered
The ones who answer know what for

The river runners round the corner 
the boat arrives to bated breath
the message makes it to the people
the people work with what is left

The sun will pierce the tattered pages
The net will draw around the beast 
The poet carves her into peices
The world was born by our deceased

But you were born into the age of ignorance
Your time alive will mark the smallest single step 
And it will turn again long after you are dead
It is our burden but you needn’t be bereft

The Age of Ignorance

A woman holds the belly
 She can no longer hide.
 
Like the bottom of the ocean. 
A burden carried quietly.
  
Their hearts are on the spindle. 
The fates are to decide.
  
She lays her body down. 
Her heart will welcome anything. 
  
For the countless before her
Have held the world together. 
  
She feels her belly moving 
You can’t take it for granted, no
  
For a baby beckons 
For the spirit of a mother 
  
Who’s Head is in the night sky 
And feet pinned to the planet.
Who sees a new born baby 
And deeply understands it.
  
A man holding his child
He can no longer hide.
  
Like snow crowning a mountain. 
A burden carried quietly.
  
Their hearts are on the spindle.
The fates are to decide.
  
He lays the child down
His heart will weather anything
  
For the countless before him 
Have pulled the world together. 
  
And waters are rising. 
You can’t take it for granted, no
  
For a child beckons 
For the spirit of a father
  
Who faces the darkness 
And the lives that he is handed.
Who seeing a child 
Leaves no spirit stranded.
  
The two now stand together.
The need no longer hide.
 
The child will be born.
Moving now but quietly.
