Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this edition we welcome @friendsofhannes

A young DJ and producer duo based in Munich and Berlin. Their impulsive psychedelic downtempo sound is mainly inspired by different elements of techno, house and psytrance. The characteristic rolling baselines, lush arps and organic percussive elements complement each other, creating a technoid flow with unique soundscapes. 

They met during studies and initially shared the same passion for different kind of music ranging from electronica to reggae. With Friends of Hannes, they started the musical journey together, exploring new progressive ideas and fantasies of floating thumping basses. Now, their spaceship started moving into the darker deep space, visiting distant galaxies to discover extraterrestrial sounds for you to enjoy: Deep Space Techno.

Our French friend brought us a fantastic melodic techno set with some deep ethereal touches from his own repertoire, reminding us he should definitely be a force to be reckoned with.

Unsichtbar & Überall 

Was ist quasi überall vorhanden und bleibt für uns trotzdem unsichtbar?

Für viele Bürger der heutigen Industriestaaten ist das Internet, mit all seinen Vorzügen, sowie Schattenseiten zu einer Selbstverständlichkeit geworden. Durch die exorbitante Verbreitung von mobilem Datenvolumen und handlichen Smartphones kann jederzeit, an fast jedem Ort im www gesurft werden. Doch auch unabhängig von dieser Entwicklung, gehört ein W-LAN Router mittlerweile zur Grundausstattung in einem Haushalt. Das Internet hat sukzessive Einzug in alle Bereiche des Lebens gehalten und das in relativ kurzer Zeit. Einer der Hauptgründe dafür ist die Praktikabilität. Besonders in den Krisenjahren wurde uns allen verdeutlicht, wie praktisch das Internet doch ist. Zum einen ersetzt es die physische Mobilität. Durch diverse Tools und Anwendungen kann in einigen Berufen bequem von Zuhause aus gearbeitet werden. Die einzige notwendige Bedingung ist ein Internetanschluss und entsprechendes Endgerät. Doch auch das sozial Leben hat durch das omnipräsente Netz einen radikalen Wandel erfahren. Das Schreiben von Briefen, klassische Telefonate oder auch das physische Beisammensein für gemeinsame Aktivitäten, wurden mehr als weniger obsolet. Heutzutage kann man quasi alle Bereiche der Kommunikation mit nur einer App abdecken und darüber hinaus mit Freunden und Bekannten über Distanzen von tausenden Kilometern in Echtzeit kommunizieren. Diese technischen Errungenschaften haben bei all ihren immanenten Vorzügen auch eine negative Seite. Besonders in der zwischenmenschlichen Kommunikation geht durch Textnachrichten vieles verloren. Das führt zu einem zu Missverständnissen und darüber hinaus verbleibt das getippte Gespräch häufig auf einem recht oberflächlichen Niveau. Tiefe entsteht meist nur beim Kontakt von Angesicht zu Angesicht. Diesen Umstand kann auch das Internet nur bis zu einem gewissen Punkt substituieren. Ähnlich verhält es sich mit dem Homeoffice oder der Online-Lehre. Tendenziell ist die Motivation zuhause geringer als an einem festen, externen Arbeitsplatz. Die Versuchung der Ablenkung ist daheim sehr viel stärker, als bspw. in einem Büro. Auch die fehlenden Kollegen, Mitschüler oder auch andere Studierende machen sich deutlich und spürbar bemerkbar. Gegenseitiges befeuern, voneinander lernen oder auch wetteifern werden durch die räumliche Trennung deutlich reduziert. Das unsichtbare Netz bringt viel gutes mit sich, aber es lässt die Menschen sich auch entfremden. Fallen Dir noch weitere Beispiele ein, in denen das Internet still und heimlich einen oder mehrere Lebensbereiche reformiert hat?

Heute haben wir einen Musikproduzenten und waschechten Liveact auf KataHaifisch zu Gast. Genau gesagt macht uns der Künstler und Musikliebhaber Konchord heute seine Aufwartung. Über 121 Minuten lang präsentiert er uns warme Klänge und säuselnd-berauschende Sounds. Tiefgründige Melodien harmonischer Synths treffen auf trabende Basslines und rhythmische Percussions. Ab und an gesellen sich Vocals in das elektronische Ensemble mit ein und gemeinsam zelebriert die Gesamtheit der Instrumente die Schönheit und Vielfalt der Musik.

Elektronische Musik war schon immer ein großer Teil von mir. Ich liebte den frühen Techno der in den 90ern aufkam. Irgendwann war klar, dass ich auch hinter die Turntables wollte. Seit 2019 bin ich nun selbst auch auf Partys in Ulm, München, Heidelberg und Stuttgart als Dj unterwegs.

Beim auflegen stehe ich auf analogen Techno und düstere 80er Discobeats. Den Mädels von WUT habe ich bereits viele tolle Partys und Bookings zu verdanken und hoffe dass wir uns dieses Jahr bald wieder sehen :)

gebore­n in der Kleinstadt Grimma, mit bürgerlichem Namen Stefan Radon, zog es Ihn mit 25zig in die Großstadt nach Leipzig. Nach seiner kaufmännischen Laufbahn im Groß -und Außen­handel, entschied er sich seine große Leidenschaft „Musik“ professio­nell anzugehen. Dazu absolvierte er ein „Audio-Design“ Studium an der „Deutschen POP“ in Leipzig!

 2018 gründete Er mit Freunden zusammen den Underground/Techno Club „Brotfabrik“ im Leipziger Westen um sich und seines gleichen eine Bühne zu bieten, frei nach dem Motto: „von Freunden für Freunde“. Im Herbst 2022 wird die Brotfabrik 2.0 an den Start gehen.

Er hostete bereits mit seiner Crew mehrere Events mit Top Künstlern wie Marc DePulse, Darin Epsilon etc.

 Seine Sets, bestehend aus progressiven, melodischen, treibenden und harten Sounds, sollen einfach nur eins: Die LEUTE ZUM TANZEN BRINGEN! Dies durfte er in Clubs wie dem Klunkerkranich Berlin, Station Endlos und diversen anderen schon unter Beweis stellen.

To deejaying I came via detours on the Way of St. James, in the summer of 2012. I mixed the tracks that accompanied me on my journey to create a DVD with memories in the form of pictures and videos. This is how my first Ableton Mix was created. In those days I was not aware of the potential behind this program. In the years before I produced my own tracks without any success. At nights I listened the same beat hours for hours. First live sets were created. But they never lived up to my expectations. What I like to hear is rare. The one beat where every note has its place. Crystal clear and driving.

Electronic music has always been an integral part of my life. In the 80s, influenced by my daddy and his love for Revox & Technics. The "Neue deutsche Welle"  ran up and down. I like the sound of the synthesizers. Pink Floyd was always there acoustically. When Culture Beat, Snap and U96 appeared on the scene, I was finally influenced by my current music style. Enigma. Completely new tones. I am just thinking back to the time when I recorded mixtapes with my double cassette deck. The Hessentag '95 with Mark Spoon and Sven Väth comes to my mind. Or the annual live broadcast of Energy on Swiss radio. Even back then there were such incredibly cool sets and pieces. In school we dealed with tapes of the past weekends. Broadcaster like Evosonic, BBC Radio One and Sputnik now broadcast techno regularly. The clubnights with Talla, Taucher & DJ DAG were the non plus ultra. For me there was no other form of audible music.

With the first CD compilations like Trancemaster and Rave Mission I finally started to play in the late 90s. On 99 Penny events. A funny time. But I decided to celebrate. For listening. For the Rave.

The Millennium Energy was legendary. To celebrate the Love Parade in Berlin with one million people, unforgettable. Mayday and Sonne Mond Sterne Festival-just amazing. In the years around 2000, things got really intense. I left almost nothing out. Schranz! I miss the good old days a little bit, like dancing the soul out of your body on Sunday mornings at Nature One with DJ DAG. We're poisoned.

Thanks to internet and flatrate I only listened to Frisky Radio via iTunes. A completely new era. Via eDonkey there was sound for download. I simply didn't need anything else to satisfy my desire for good music. Sasha's first "Involver" album was the decisive factor for my style today. From now on, digital purity was in the foreground. For me, this music has become a way of life. The older I became, the more intense. That's how I sometimes have the feeling. What makes me especially happy is that techno has grown up with me.
