Krosis - Swamps of Sadness

I wanted to experiment with writing some ambient music today using just my analog synths, and this is the result!

This piece is comprised of 3 parts - a drone, a bass pattern, and a counterpoint pattern. 

The bass pattern is comprised of a 5-note cycle, and the counterpoint uses a 4-note cycle, resulting in a sequence of 20 harmonic dyads which then repeats.

I recorded two takes each for the bass and counterpoint in real-time with automation by hand each way through, and then panned both takes for each part left and right in order to create a more 3D stereo field.

Each piece was recorded using a Dreadbox Erebus running through an additional analog filter and digital FX section from the Dreadbox Typhon, with some EQ, compression, and a tape machine emulation added in Ableton, with very gentle limiting on the master.

Definitely going to be doing more ambient soon! Had a lot of fun with this, hope you enjoy! <3

20201212 Ambient Experiment

As above, so below; as within, so without. (H.T) 

This album goes in representation and reminiscence to the astrological symbolic language and to the planetary process that we are going through, with the conjunctions between Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn. These last two planets, the Time's Lords, mark 200-year's cycles in each of the 4 elements. Throughout the 20th century we have seen that the conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn occurred on Earth signs. This year, this conjunction is going to take place on December 21 in Aquarium: the beginning of a new cycle in the Air element. 
We can think that from this contact between the Chronocrators, that expand and contract time and set worldwide's gaps, we can welcome the new age of Aquarius and new dynamics in the socio-economical, religious and cultural aspects. We are facing an scenary of complex creativity and mutation, enabling internal and external changes. Parts of us are dying allowing access to the new. 
Let’s allow the vital energy that animates life transforms us.
