I'll be honest, I'm not sure if I would've ever remixed this song if it wasn't for the commission, but boy am I glad I did! This is my first attempt at making a reggaeton style beat, and it was a BOATload of fun. Linebeck is just such a fun character, and his theme really gives him that charm/personality. I wanted to keep that original, walking the plank type feel while showing Linebeck that the squids - really just wanna party. The hardest part of this remix for me was definitely crafting the perfect 808 bass to kinda mesh those two worlds together.

I heard about Chiptunes = WIN thanks to Nate Horsfall, the guy who always draws the cover art for them, and who drew the Dwelling of Duels contest banners for years. When I met him at MAGFest in early 2015, he suggested I submit stuff to this ridiculously festive album, as Prime Legacy, that I released back in 2014, featured songs that could have been perfect fits.

Luna Ascension Continue Remix

This is the result of my research on how to write songs with constraints similar to those of SEGA Genesis game soundtracks. A final boss battle theme specifically designed for one of the games I'm currently developing as a side-project(a shmup, obviously), and also a love letter to the "Justice Ray" tracks (part 1 to 5) by Hyakutaro Tsukumo.
