Stardust Speedway G Mix

Mega Man IV (also known as Rockman 4) is a game very dear to my brother Ariel. He asked me to make a Dr. Cossack Stage 2 arrangement, which I happily obliged, since it's the coolest track in that soundtrack, composed by Minae Fujii. As usual when using the Konami VRCVII sound chip (also known as VRC7), I tried to pursue a MSX-like sound, despite the different instruments. I think it turned out good, what do you think?

Simple really, I made the track so that it would sound good on both the YM2203 and the YM2608. The only difference between this and the YM2608 version aside from the 3 extra FM channels is that the SSG is set to volume 13 in the YM2203 version instead of 14, to compensate for the SSG being louder.

Probe - Big Calm

So this one didn't start out Touhou-related, it actually was inspired by the original Kirby soundtrack, but I think my ideas sort of became Touhou-ish in the end. I wanted to make a quick fast song like a boss battle and just made it as upbeat but also characteristic as possible. It was fun to compose and I did it in a month or so. At one point I thought I'd lost the file due to a little data corruption but luckily I had a back up and this song was saved. I've submitted this as part of a scholarship portfolio and should get results back next year as well.
