@art-alfie, the eminent Swedish mastermind of unconditionally funky house blesses us with the privilege of two of his somewhat “out-there” house tracks. Two functional tools with maximum wonky-ness that will completely obliterate dance floors. The EP is released by Bigges District — a label run by Stockholm producers Ari Bald, Gudding and CJ Scott. Art Alfie’s enrollment on the label’s digital imprint DIGGES is a follow up on the series “Klubbdubbar”.

The EP takes off with ”Diana” — a house gadget made in collaboration with Måns Glaeser. “Diana”s ringing and chronometric synthesizer sounds and latin infused bass line stipulates a hefty and arid groove filled with color. On the flip “Libido Rising” enters. The tracks crooked and precarious character tosses the listener into a chaotic and tumultuous disposition. A brusque and wandering bassline accompanied by sprightly and agile jazz infused percussion culminates into this vigorous number.

This version reimagines the original essence from a minimalist perspective, where each element breathes and acquires intention.

The collaboration between Kommuna’s co-founder Pekkuliar and Driahn produces the goods for the B-side with a ghetto/reggae take on the 2-step sound while the EP concludes nicely with a feel-good remix from Imprints mastermind Domenico Rosa.

Track by track, we are building a Kommuna of both well-established artists and unknown studio dwellers, who share our obsession for music discovery without following any particular genre limitations.

“Time & Space”, Jorge Caiado’s debut album, took a 7 year creative cycle to be conceived and finished. It’s the synthesis of a prolific period dedicated to exploring the many facets of House music.
Since his first release on Balance, back in 2012, Jorge has captured the attention of several father figures of the electronic music universe such as Chez Damier, Move D or Andrew Weatherall, but “Time & Space” is not about the legacy so far but totally about original repertoire composed specifically for the album format.
“Time & Space” is a journey into sound where the artist brings the vitality of jazz back to House with the help of 2 other fine musicians.
Another essential soundtrack to Lisbon’s vibrant electronic music scene just landed!
