This piece is a reflection on the concept of space as sound. Space understood not as a visual concept, but as an auditory one, as the connective tissue between all of the objects in the world, carried to the perimeter and to the center. A voluminous environment that emerges from an exquisite global polyphony. This piece was inspired by Mathias Hinke's lesson 'Demonstrations and fun cultures' which explores the role of sound in specific non-musical social settings and practices.

Four people recount their involvement with “county lines” - gangs that exploit children and vulnerable adults to sell drugs around the UK.

Underneath their stories lies a series of unspoken, unanswered questions. Who gets to decide the boundary between criminal and victim? Why do we view 'county lines' through the lens of crime and punishment? And how well does the system support individuals and families devastated by the impact of 'county lines'?

A creative audio documentary exploring questions of voice and listening from scientific, artistic, philosophical and political perspectives. 

Who – and what – do we deem capable of having a voice, and worthy of being listened to? And how does the way we listen affect our ability to hear the conversations that are going on around us? Samar Nasrullah Khan is philosopher whose work is focused on developing strategies for “listening to the other – the human, non-human, thing”. This creative documentary explores Samar’s work listening to, and with, cows, and the experiences which have shaped their fascination with ideas of voice.

We increasingly interact with the world through the binary, on/off medium of buttons—from keyboards and appliances, to the digital interfaces of phones and tablets; but it didn’t have to be this way. “There is nothing natural or inevitable about buttons or the act of pushing a button. Various constituencies over the years—especially advertisers and manufacturers—have marshalled tremendous resources to make buttons popular and alluring,” Rachel Plotnick, author of Power Button: A History of Pleasure, Panic, and the Politics of Pushing. With Cornell professor Roger Moseley.
