For many this is the ultimate Disco Illusion; a record that should have been epoch making in its day, something that would have been a staple for David Mancuso, Larry Levan & Ron Hardy had it ever gotten distribution when it was originally released 34 years ago. Somehow time passed it by and it was only re-discovered in a warehouse in Trinidad last year. Since then it has been gaining momentum fast, with DJ support from Moodymann, MCDE, Floating Points & Kon, as well as original copies selling for four-digit sums. Part of the illusion is in the structure of the record. The A-side begins with a beautiful hazy disco song, but suddenly an Egyptian sounding bridge turns things inside out and the song opens up into stripped back proto-house jam complete with bubbling Sun Ra synths and Black Ark tape delay action. Then there’s the b-side, which sounds like Bob James after he had a taste of callaloo, with deep electronics and a mind-melting steel pan solo.

Get Physical Music invites German duo Monkey Safari to reimagine Niconé’s ‘What Do U Know’ with a driving, club-ready twist. Their remix transforms the disco-tinged original into a euphoric dancefloor peak-time cut.


Out October 3, 2025, the remix sees Monkey Safari inject their trademark sound: warm piano chords, a deep rolling bassline, and playful percussion details — cowbell included — that keep the rhythm moving. It’s a track designed to lift spirits and ignite the dancefloor, while still honoring the original’s infectious essence.


Known for their melodic touch and genre-spanning versatility, brothers Sven and Lars have long shaped the electronic landscape with releases on Anjunadeep, Spectrum, and, of course, Get Physical. Returning to his classic style of rugged, explosive techno, Kompakt luminary and co-founder REINHARD VOIGT certainly isn't one to mince beats - his latest 12" outing REISEN & SPEISEN presents a sure-footed duo of intense, minimalist bangers whose lean and efficient structure is finely tuned for maximum impact. The title track drops a simple-yet-mindmelting synth horn into a seething primeval soup of stoic bass and stomping drums - a dead-aim floor projectile packing a worrying amount of punch. Flipside surprise WÜHLER showcases a rare electro exploit by an artist mostly known for unerring techno, indulging in a gnarly new wave bassline being boiled and some expertly placed synth splashes - a refreshing deviation that nevertheless keeps the elbowing momentum of Voigt's sweat-soaked live sets.
