'Following up to Rob Belleville’s inaugural delivery, Fluid Electronics returns in 2021 with a new collaborative EP courtesy of Dutch veteran Jarno, the man behind Trouw's infamous Below evenings, and Fluid Electronics’ co-founder and owner Shirazi, back in full swing after a ten-year break from production. The EP features remixes from Amsterdam’s Love Over Entropy and seminal Rotterdam-based duo, Duplex. 

The A-side finds Shirazi and Jarno dishing out a vaporous dub with the focus track, “Late Night Thoughts”. Engineering a mix of reverb-drenched atmospheric techno laced with hedonistic house accents and mystique-imbued melodies on a dreamy tip. Upping the tempo and overall vibe of the track, Love Over Entropy’s remix propels its listener in a blazing corridor of synth arpeggios and luminous chords.

The flip side sees Shirazi go solo on the ethereal “Continue Learning”, all in evocative spaciousness and textural finesse, as it merges the immersive depth of Basic Channel-esque envelopes with further straightforward floor dynamics. Clone-affiliated duo Duplex provides a tighter, jacking match to the original’s vaster headspace, tweaking it into a proper clinical club-ready weapon. '

'Far Away Place' is Xinobi’s forthcoming single that anticipates his new album to be released on 24th of March. This track echoes 90s Deep House peppered with Pop sensibility. The tracks swoons with layers of texture; delicate female vocals, cascading water soundscapes, drum machines, and light synths. 
The core of the track is the hypnotic Techno loop that Bruno Cardoso (Xinobi) masterfully crafts. 
'Far Away Place' exists in a space between Pop, Ambient, House and Techno, yet successfully translates as an elegant radio ready track. There is something undeniably upbeat about the track. Living up to its title, the track gives you the optimistic feeling of driving down the California coast, off towards far away destinations.

Speaking Minds & Amarcord make a welcome return to AEON with the Cosmic Friday EP, a moving five track release that features stunning remixes from scene heavyweights Fort Romeau and Moscoman.
“‘Cosmic Friday’ comes from the attempt to merge Krautrock influences with a blade runner-esque vibe while keeping the structure of a modern dance music record. ‘Drums & Oscillators’ instead is simply what the title recalls: a live session made with a Korg MS-20 recorded on a single take which remained unchanged. With the night drive mix the record has been turned into a slowly burning acidic tune for the darkest night drives.” Speaking Minds & Amarcord.
Cosmic Friday begins the EP powerfully, as a synth filled bassline rolls up and down before ethereal pads lead into rustling hi- hats. Fort Romeau’s Humanoid mix of the title track comes next, featuring distorted keys that pave the way for a moving piano chime, before Drums & Oscillators ratchets up the pace with subtle pulses and vibrating basslines. Moscoman’s Remix of Drums & Oscillators is another powerful dance number, as a chunky, wobbling rhythm is complemented by emotive violin calls, whilst the Night Drive Mix rounds off the EP with breakbeat-esque percussion and a penetrating acid solo.
Speaking Minds is a founding member of AEON alongside Alex Niggeman and Denis Horvat. Fellow Italian Amarcord is no stranger to the scene, having teamed up with Speaking Minds on the Mermaid’s Chant EP released on Canadian imprint My Favourite Robot Records. Esteemed record enthusiast Fort Romeau has produced standout releases for the likes of Running Back and Spectral Sound. Moscoman is the proprietor of respected imprint Disco Halal, and is a prolific producer and remixer, releasing on labels such as ESP Institute and Life and Death whilst similarly remixing the likes of Man Power and Bawrut.

Happy Halloween LAMP family. We have a really nice treat for you today! A premier from no_ip from one of our favorite labels Clash Lion. The label headed up by Shall Ocin TERR and Daniel Watts has been putting out some really great music since it began in 2017.  We featured Risa Taniguchi a while back and are excited to share a new one from their upcoming album sampler Clash Culture Vol. 1.

Set for release on Friday November 1st is Clash Culture Vol.1 a diverse collection of music highlighting a talented group artists. We loved this debut release from no_ip and are excited to have the chance to share his debut release for Clash Lion. "It's Wrong" is one of those tracks that sneaks up on you. It has a great little groove that has a bit of a tribal edge, with a chugging bass line that is easy to get into rhythm with.  Where the track gets interesting is after the vocal that has the title sample in it. no_ip adds in some really epic synths that take  things to a whole other level. There is some really great sound design going on with big epic horns and some crazy darting synths that remind me of the sounds from a couple of different Star Wars explosions. There are some really interesting little percs he throws in and the way he opens and closes the filters on the saw synths bouncing around in the background really adds some fun dynamics to the track.

Two decades. Twenty years. Twenty compilations. Over 400 tracks. Over two days of total playing time and countless coloured dots. If someone would have told us in 1999, when we put together TOTAL 1 that this would turn into one of the longest standing compilation series in techno world we would have laughed out loud. But here we are – in the year 2020 which will probably go down in history as the most difficult period ever for club culture. But we won’t stop doing what we’re doing. Music is our oxygen. We’ll dance together soon again.

The TOTAL series has always been like KOMPAKT’s yearbook and to say it with the late Frank Sinatra: It was a very good year. Our family of artists delivered a strong heterogeneous mix of uplifting sounds, from the lush reveries of ROBAG WRUHME and SOELA to the stark primetime bangers of MARC ROMBOY or ANNA & KITTIN and everything in between. Notable new entries to our crew are the Londoner KIWI with his wonderfully careless “Hello Echo” that picks up the camp disco vibes Justus Köhncke made a staple in our repertoire. Amsterdam’s DAVID DOUGLAS delivers an appetizer for a full course meal. His quirky pop approach sits comfortably between fellow dutchmen WEVAL’s abstract beats and AGENTS OF TIME’s opulent Italo Disco. YOTAM AVNI blends Detroit techno with new age jazz that reminisces the sound of ECM artists like Jan Garbarek or John Surman. The man with the hat, KÖLSCH also picks up jazzier notes in his very own big room style. Youngblood JONATHAN KASPAR appears twice, fortifying his status as one of the hottest beat smiths of our hometown Cologne. TOTAL wouldn’t be TOTAL without our permanent staff present in full force. As per tradition, KOMPAKT’s founding fathers, VOIGT & VOIGT, JÜRGEN PAAPE, JÖRG BURGER, MICHAEL MAYER as well as our Berlin outpost SASCHA FUNKE all deliver exclusive gems that also feature on Total 20’s double vinyl edition.

Lehar and Musumeci shake their way to a new vibration with ‘Nattergal’. Not only is it sentimental with its endearing nu-disco vibes, but it’s also a nod in appreciation to when the Italian artists first collaborated together in 2015 on Diynamic with their remix of Ost & Kjex’s ‘Easy’. Encircling us in full motion with the relentless broken beat, cool shades of balearic vibes waver up and down and run themselves large until the beat kicks in, and a romantic chime turns the blues tones into a warmer romantic energy for a full-good feeling. Giving Ost & Kjex their time to shine with their ethereal vocals to help calm us down for the short moment, we’re once again soaked in sunshine until the end, where the chime continues to run itself around the cosmic frazzles whilst all else glistens and saturates itself lovingly until the end.
