DJ Koze and Roman Flugel have been an integral part of my "go-to" artists that I follow for releases and influence. The musicality and production prowess is unmatched and well-respected around the globe, and it was an honor to have the opportunity to play a supporting set that night.  Enjoy the groove - it was defintely one of those "work the crowd" kinds of sets, so enjoy the journey as I tried various styles to keep the dancefloor pumping!

A happy belated Valentine's Day to all the lovers out there. To commemorate the occasion, my latest mix touches upon the combination of suits. Not some simple storybook version of love, but the complex tension and balance that go into the real thing. Like hearts and spades. Delicate but strong. Submissive but powerful. Vulnerable but aggressive. Comfortable but yearning. Open but mysterious.

I think this music is pretty, though not just in a light and fluffy way. More to do with a sense of romance - I hope you can hear it!

The thing I love most about Burning Man is no matter how much you think you've prepared, you still never really know what to expect. The uncertainty, the excitement, the apprehension, and sometimes even the fear of what's just around the corner is what keeps so many of us coming back every year with a renewed childlike wonder - a feeling that seems to slip away as we get older. Sometimes everything goes right, and sometimes things just go wrong. 2014 was a mixed bag for me with some high highs (spending time with amazing people, getting to DJ in the best place in the world, seeing some incredible forms of expression) and low lows (namely falling hard on my back off of a see-saw putting me in constant pain for the entire week - it even hurt to laugh!)...but at the end of the day, I got exactly what I bargained for and couldn't ask for anything more: I experienced the unexpected.

In contrast to the previous two years on the bus, this year I played first on Friday night and took a little sonic stroll around different sounds and moods to open the night before Bedouin beautifully escalated the night into proper party mode...Pardon any sloppy mixing, we can just blame that on my aching back :)

Thanks to everyone who was there early in the night to catch my set, and thanks to everyone listening at home, Robot Heart, and Dr Burridge for the continued support over the years...Having the opportunity to do what I do is such a great gift from all of you.

I'm telling you about a time..
The song "La Bohème" is a nostalgic ode to youth and bohemian life in Montmartre, Paris. The lyrics describe a bygone era, filled with simplicity and hardship, but also happiness and creativity, and a period when artist friends lived with little money but great passion and hope. The song evokes images of a vibrant neighborhood where art and camaraderie were more valuable than material comforts.
