It's no wonder, then, that at any given time, a big part of his back catalogue seems to be sold out. Five years after the highly acclaimed, award-winning full-length KILIMANJARO (KOMPAKT 222 CD 80), it is time to revisit Superpitcher's unique body of work with SO FAR SO SUPER, an enticing selection of some of his most cherished cuts - acting as our 2016 vinyl offering for this year's Record Store Day, it collects highlights from all stages of his career, the underground club bangers as well as the conceptual album work. Berlin’s live-electronic visionaries GHEIST join forces with Ukraine’s melodic house prodigy 8Kays for Flowers & Guns, a collaboration that blurs the lines between indie dance and progressive house. Following GHEIST’s Searching Places EP, which drew acclaim for its original tracks and remixes from Mark Hoffen, Oliver Koletzki, and Unfazed, this partnership marks a new chapter of artistic synergy.

"This track is the most special one for me so far," shares 8Kays. "It was born from hearing a spectacular and profound idea from GHEIST, which immediately inspired me to start working on it, incorporating a live piano performance and the arrangement I wanted to embrace with the sound I produced. Later, GHEIST shaped the project into the final version we hear today: a tender and emotionally deep piece of music that I am truly grateful to be part of."

Flowers & Guns merges GHEIST’s textured, dramaturgically rich electronic approach with 8Kays’ signature melodic depth and eloborate arrangements, weaving shimmering synths, rounded basslines, and live piano into a soundscape both expansive and intimate. Each artist’s hallmark - GHEIST’s cinematic layering and tension-driven structures, and 8Kays’ emotive, harmonically adventurous touch, interlocks seamlessly, creating a track where every rhythm, chord, and crescendo feels deliberate and deeply expressive.

Lyrically, the song is both bold and poetic, with lines like “Hand me a bullet / I bring you flowers and the sun” blending raw intensity with vivid imagery. The result is a track that captivates both the dancefloor and reflective listening sessions, equally at home in euphoric club moments, late-summer farewells, or personal playlists that demand emotional depth.

Michael Mayer became obsessed with Erik Luebs, an American producer based in Osaka, after stumbling upon his independently released music on Bandcamp. Luebs’ talent for creating high-energy, minimalist acid techno with impeccable, futuristic sound design swiftly earned him a regular place in Mayer’s sets. It was only a matter of time before Luebs made his debut on Kompakt’s Speicher series with this highly versatile EP. ‘Riding the Blade’ opens the four-track EP, showcasing Luebs’ signature punchy psychedelia. ‘Scarlet Viscera’ features a sleek, minimal groove that is reminiscent of the genre’s heyday in the 2000s. ‘Transform Into Glass’ emanates blissful Detroit vibes, and the EP closes with a real bang: ‘Sucked Through Tube’ creates a frenzy on the dance floor without the need for a single kick drum. Michael Mayer, aka Mr. Lava Lava asked a bunch of his absolute favourite artists to have a go at some of the tracks from his recent album 'The Floor Is Lava'. First up is Barcelona's brightest flame, RAXON, who is melting 'Brainwave 2.0' into a stompin fun-filled primetime banger. Longtime collaborator DAVE DK is a masterful producer and remixer that appears regularly on Pampa and Kompakt. His take on 'The Solution' feels like a road trip to paradise and back. Montreal's PRIORI is one of the hottest names in showbiz right now. His ability to bridge genres and create pristine sound designs is fully on display in his remix for 'The Solution'. Last but not least, the legend that is SEBASTIAN MULLAERT took a moment off from his revered Circle Of Live jams to transform the albums deepest cut 'Ardor' into an extraordinary musical journey. Oldschool Border Community vibes in the rebound!

"You Make Me Feel" was the first outtake from Steve Bug's second Poker Flat album "Sensual". Slowly but unmistakebly building up a hypnotic groove with a rolling percussion loop, ice-cold snare and hollering vocal (reminiscent of Gainsbourg's "Bonny and Clyde"), Bug forces you flashing your sharpest dancing routines even before he throws in that distorted, take-no-prisoners, Saunderson-style organ-bassline. Flip over for another version that's served up straightened-out and stripped down yet still manages to come up with a higher percentage of FUNK. Another totally satisfying five star menu for the Poker Flat gourmet.
