Animalia presents the first in a series of 2 x 12” compilations… For volume one, comes Microevolutions… An homage to the label’s continued growth and evolution, a label dedicated to authentic celebrations of talented local artists. Here, Animalia returns to its roots with a release compiled by the members of Menage (plus special guests Ebbs n Flow), all compiled in the northern suburbs of Naarm (Melbourne).  The compilation showcases the various moods and facets that make up the deep yet somehow undefinable Animalia sound.  From deep techno to UK garage and everything in between, Microevolutions is an earnest reflection of the diversity of sound that makes Animalia so special.

Six years after my first @cmykitsme self-published, non-dance music mix, here's volume 2!

This time coming to you as @kanvasfm, a DJ alias and web-radio project which has provided a large share of my musical inspiration the last few years, leading me to revisit and meticulously organize music I had accumulated over a lifetime, and researching the best ways to assemble truly genre-bending selections.

This recording is the non-dancey half of my opening set on the sunny Saturday afternoon during Le Chant des Oiseaux festival in June 2021, in the Cévennes natural park in France. People were slowly gathering, some chilling in the grass, others bopping their heads on what would soon become a dancefloor. For many of us, this festival represented the first time in over a year and a half we attended such event - a very cherished memory.

Hope you enjoy the selecta (despite a few dodgy transitions and some saturation issues) as much as I enjoyed this moment!

Eva Velázquez was born in San Carlos, Maldonado, Uruguay.
She began her interaction with the electronic scene in 2014, mainly attracted by Uruguayan artists such as Dj Koolt, Z@p, Nicolás Lutz, Kino, among others.
In 2017, already living in Montevideo and frequenting phonotheque, she aroused her interest in DJing and two years later she already began to collect music in vinyl format.
By 2020 she was already taking classes with Dj Koolt at @ k.estudio.uy
Her favorite genres are Techno, EBM, New beat and Electro.
