For the second release in our Re-Issue Series we’ve teamed up with London duo Euphonic for a cherry picked deep dive into their back catalogue exploring some of their finest works, fusing Jungle, Breaks, and Down Tempo with unique programming, bass lines and traditional jazz/blues instrumentation.

“Low Orbit Archives” features a number of artists whom they have collaborated with since the project's inception back in 1997, including dr. Israel, Soothsayer, Kirsty Rock and Neech. Euphonic is led by producer Rob Henry and former Graffiti artist turned DJ, Nick Trimm.

The “Low Orbit Archives” compilation continues, following Part 1 of the projects recently released 10" vinyl "Jah Science", with an additional 8 tracks spread across the 12” and digital exclusives. The release aims to offer a wide but cohesive spectrum of genres and styles for audio lovers and record collectors. All tracks have been unearthed from CD, Vinyl and DAT, and newly remastered.

The release titled ‘Bodega Sound’ will be the second V/A compiled by General Merchant (formerly known as DORIS Records) and will be the labels’ fourth official release (previous releases can be listened to here https://generalmerchant.bandcamp.com/). General Merchant is an Eora based record label, hosting events and releasing music that represents (part of) so-called ‘Australia’s club scene. Compiled entirely of local artists from Eora/Sydney (Gadigal and Wangal Country), Naarm (Melbourne) and Ngunnawal Country (ACT), the release boasts a wide variety of club, progressive, electro, downtempo and breaks, catering to a diverse audience. In this press pack, we have included 3 tracks that we feel give a good taste for the compilation. 

The compilation will be released on Bandcamp alongside 10 cyanotype prints made with native flora (by India Heath). All proceeds from the compilation and print sales will be donated to Firesticks Alliance (firesticks.org.au). 

 'Bodega Sound' and all associated artworks were created, produced and compiled on unceded Aboriginal land. General Merchant acknowledges that it operates on stolen land, belonging to the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, and we pay our respects to Aboriginal elders past, present and emerging. In efforts to better the spaces we use and challenge the way the 
dance music community functions in respect to indigenous communities, we will be donating to (and raising awareness for) a carefully chosen organisation.  

 Firesticks Alliance is an indigenous-led network that aims to facilitate and reinvigorate cultural burning through indigenous teaching about fire and land management. This is achieved through training and implementation of on-ground fire management. Firesticks also collaborate with the scientific community to monitor and establish a greater understanding of 
the ecological impacts of cultural burning practice. The overall aim is to enhance ecosystem health through a process that enables and empowers Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities to collaborate. If you would like to learn more about Firesticks Alliance, their website is linked below.

 Information about the artists:

Signal72 is a South London-born, Boston-based music producer with a passion for the darker, left-field edges of electro, techno, and EBM. A devoted synthesizer tinkerer, he crafts immersive, boundary-pushing sounds that reflect his curiosity for the underground and his drive to explore electronic music in unexpected ways.

Fro is a producer and Dj based in Athens Greece . 

His style is a combination of electro with ebm aesthetics and with a wide range of frequencies between breaks and techno as well

He is the 1/2 Monodroids electro project along RLCT 

Resident member of Society3000 collective and host of Slam! Athens Queer Rave Parties along ClubKid

He has released music with many electro labels such as Division Virtuel , Urban Distortions , Urban Connections , Tripalium Corp , Microm Records and others

He has also shared the stage with huge names of the scene such as Luke Slater, Jensen Interceptor, Massimiliano Pagliara , Curses , Boris and many many others
