We set the bar pretty high for ourselves last year with Volume 1 of our remix compilation, but are proud to say this collection may even top that. Some of our biggest releases get incredible remixes from some of the hottest names in the game – that's love. Let me break it down for you again!

Rising Canadian duo Botnek (Dim Mak) tag team Wax Motif & Neoteric's Das Machines and make it bigger, stronger, and heavier. Already played nightly by Tommy Trash, Congorock and others this will impact Miami and beyond this summer. More Canadians (Grandtheft & Smalltown Djs - fresh off their 'Flying' EP Release on Main Course) deliver the perfect complimentary remix to Symone's late 2013 smash Buyakasha, a nightly set-opener for Major Lazer. This remix gets slowed down and based up with head nod appeal. Classy and Bombastic; Just like Canada. Hotly tipped bass producer Infuze strikes back! Flipping 4B's smash Bomboclat and morphing it into a cavernous horror filled. Already supported by Diplo & BBC Radio 1! Ape Drums (Slow Roast) throws his hat into the ring too, with his remix of Bomboclat as he flips the pancake faster than a cracked out line cook at a truck stop diner. Then Drops it in the deep fryer for that extra crunch feel. House special! Master craftsman Gianni Marino attacks Bot & David Heartbreak's intense 'Ben Hur'. this is Chinese New Years on mescaline! One of the wildest remixes in the pack, which is going to sound right at home on a festival stage near you this summer. Craig Williams brings out the heavy Techno artillery on his remix of 2D Noize's 'The Hood'. Employing a vast technical knowledge of synthesis & hardware, you'll notice many of his tricks are homemade and self taught, and this mix builds towards a frantic payload. Who knew classy could be this hype? Next up, Poolboy92 takes us to a realm with this one; it is basically a movie in song form. the story is unclear & the movements blend together like watercolors; we can make out that our protagonist had met someones elses girl at a party before it got Violento. Finally, Finnish affiliates Sharkslayer & First Date give Violento a much more contemporary, but still very hyped remix. Airhorns and whistles and Teki Latex speaking Spanish – it gets no better!

Legendary Italian techno label Unrilis, founded by top producer Rino Cerrone and A&R’ed by Luigi Madonna & Roberto Capuano, turns 10 in 2016, and this next EP is the first of many special anniversary releases planned by the label. It comes from acclaimed talent Enrico Sangiuliano and features a stunning remix by Mark Reeve.

Enrico Sangiuliano came up through illegal raves and is now a top DJ who plays all over the world and has his music played by the likes of Adam Beyer and Sven Vath. He has had the longest ever running techno number one on Beatport (his remix of ‘Can You Hear Me’ for DJ Boris on Alleanza) and is one of the best selling artists on the site at any one time. His music comes on Cocoon and Drumcode amongst others, and is powerful, direct stuff for the dance floor.

Written entirely in Italy, “X-Pollination (or cross-pollination) is fundamentally the key factor of growth, consciousness and life,” says the artist. “It’s the way I connect with people, share my passion, fly from one place to another and put many influences and elements into my music.”

The title track is eight minutes of slow burning but hypnotic techno funk with rolling rubber drums and nervy pads. Frazzled synths add post apocalyptic vibes to this main room anthem and many well crafted peaks and troughs along the way help make it even more standout. It is a real techno classic in the making.

Mark Reeve is the UK star who remixes. He has a long history with techno that goes back to the rave scene. Since then his education has taken in trips to techno mecca The Omen, has resulted in music on Cocoon and collabs with Pig & Dan. He has also released on Drumcode and has a big rolling sound that fills the world’s finest clubs and warehouses with his unique grooves. His take on the original is more energetic, with searing synths, cantering kicks and a dark energy that makes you pump your fist and stomp the floor. It is full of drama and is perfect balanced from start to finish.

This is another fine release in a landmark year for one of techno’s most consistent performers.

The album includes an evergreen remix of alt-J’s hit ‘Breezeblocks’, recent single ‘Lost’ feat. Run Rivers, and slow-burning festival smash ‘Need You’ alongside regular collaborator Thomas Oliver.

“This is actually our first album together. Our characters are quite different. This album is the result of those two different characters and the tension that arises in the search for the balance between the two of us. It is, as it were, a collection of ingredients with which we show that we are happy with the differences between them. The album also represents diversity. Many tracks on the album have the same character but are still different from each other. A nice reflection of how we are as people.”
