"As everyone knows by now, a terrible war is taking place in Ukraine. We are neither billionaires, nor soldiers, nor political leaders, nor NATO decision makers, nor superheroes, ...nor NGOs. We are only musicians and artists from different backgrounds (France, United States, Russia, Belarus, Germany, Belgium) and, unfortunately, we have neither the means to stop the war, nor to support each person in difficulty. Even if we frankly deplore it, we can at least try to support, on our scale and directly our Ukrainian family, the artists' collective and music label "Modern Stalking Audio" (based mostly in Kharkiv), by giving them the means to get to safety, and to provide for their basic needs in these incredibly difficult times.
 
Normally, these beautiful beings give everything they have to organize quality events and fight to enhance culture in Ukraine. 
We are several artists, present on this compilation, to have noticed it when we were invited to perform there, in Kharkiv, Odessa, sometimes even several times for some.

Today, most of our friends are either refugees where they can (with a ban on men aged 18-60 leaving the territory), or fighting in their own way and helping, at the risk of their lives, in the big cities and borders. 

After having helped them according to our means, we release this compilation for all those who wish to support them. Every donation, even the smallest, will be welcome. We do not pretend (and do not have the means) to do a work comparable to the Red Cross or other NGOs, However, all the gains resulting from these steps will be transferred directly by bank transfer to our friends to help them on our scale, just like those resulting from the associated Gofundme. 

 "A drop of water in an ocean... but what is an ocean if not a multitude of drops"...  

It should also be noted that the international humanitarian aid remains for the moment essentially at the border and does not arrive (or very little) in the big cities which are under the bombardments...

What will the funds from this various artists' compilation and fund be used for? 

Humanitarian needs: rental of temporary accommodation; food in the current conditions of food shortage during this period of war and post-war (bread, chocolate, vegetables, fruits, etc.) ; medicines to keep people and their loved ones healthy; essential products for babies and young children (baby food, child care products, etc.); expenses for evacuation services (public transport tickets, private drivers, accommodation in host countries, etc.)."

The Gang Goes Sampledelic (from "Leftovers for Drummies", out April 26th)

Recorded in a few days after the release of my friends Cloudwarmer's sample pack album "Lo-Fi Beats" (which can be downloaded at any price and is intended for everyone to use : https://cloudwarmer.bandcamp.com/album/lofi-beats), "Cloud Charmers" is kind of a three-way tribute : to 9 of my favourite actresses of all time, each track featuring a sampled monologue from one of them ; to the film director William Castle, through more or less discrete soundtrack samples all over the EP ; and to Cloudwarmer of course, my favourite music project nowadays, whose lo-fi beats i pillaged, looped and played with as a backbone to those tracks.

Liner notes : "I always hated beet, nearly as much as the Beatles... but i love beetles, beats and collage of bits and pisces (especially on April's Fools') so i guess you could say that i have a bitter/sweet relationship with those bits and pieces of personal stories and imaginary films focused on beats - and yet, still very much shaped and textured by bits of vintage B movie samples. But hey, no sweat ! I actually don't hate any of it, the bitter part being mostly about a few memories and situations from another life that inspired me some of those instrumentals and most of my previous record "Snapping Back In". With a little help from my friends and guests, i even came to consider most of these Beetz like sweets for the ear... which i hope you'll do too, despite the relatively intentional lack of consistency that "fake beat tape" tries to play with !"
