In no time Jack N Danny are back with another house release, this time with MFR Records. The first track of The Chemistry EP entitled ‘Chemistry’ provides listeners with a deep house sound. Blessed with the beautiful tones of the late Aaliyah, Chemistry posses an airy, delicate and instinctual feeling, yet is surprisingly layered with the track constructing of bold drums, sharp synths and resonating vocal samples. Jack N Danny take full command of the song’s evolution here and create something completely fictional and dream like.
The beautiful and original sounds of Brenda Rusell’s Piano In The Dark from 1988 have been used and molested by the likes of Pitbull, The Bingo Players and more famously Flo Rida, however none of these artists, no matter how established have been able to bring the funk to Russel’s soulful voice quite like Jack N Danny do in their next house track ‘Cry’. Jack N Danny have been able to provide Cry with a very hypnotising bass along with a lot of use from some very trusty claps and hi hats. The track elevates on and an interesting yet contradictory crescendo of punchy beats and gliding effects are formed, creating a vibe that you will want to experience again and again.
The last edition to the The Chemistry EP comes complimentary of ‘Think That’, with an upsurge of cut and screwed vocal samples, evolving synths, forceful drums, and an intense bassline, it seems that Jack N Danny almost intended for the entire EP to have an almost funky vibe. However, this is not a track to be taken lightly, Think That is dark, bumpy, glazed in emotion, spoilt by tough textures and soaks in a bath of bass. This endlessly playable last track sits nicely in Jack N Danny’s body of work and makes it impossible not to be charmed by the The Chemistry EP.
