This mix begins like a quiet path at dusk. At first it moves slowly, almost cautiously, as if it’s getting to know you. Step by step, it pulls you in, until you suddenly realise you’re deep inside — warm, alive, wrapped in rhythm, in the bright and endless flow of movement.

At some point, the energy swells into something wild — a rush of colour, faces glowing in the dark, the rhythm carrying you higher and higher. But like every wave, it crests, softens, and begins to drift away. The music softens, guides you back, and returns you to where it all began — but you’re not the same as when you started.

It’s energy and kindness, a circle you travel through. Just like in life: every ending is only the beginning of something new.

ABSIS is Salva Coromina, a regular DJ on the Barcelona scene since the late 90s under the alias mouseDown/MouseUp. He was a resident DJ at The Loft(Razzmatazz) and a regular at Sonar for many years. He has always been exploring the deeper side of electronic music, moving from ambient to techno. ABSIS currently runs his residency at Laut club in Barcelona with the Midline parties... he is also a resident at the MOSTRA festival in Barcelona and his productions are published on labels such as hivern discs, Affin and Oslated among others and is part of the label Grabaciones Perpendiculares. He also uses other aliases in collaboration with other artists under the name Atàvic with Estrato Aurora, Absira with Marco Ragni or Sonic Wave Collective with Spear and Cyklos

#162: DJ Balaton - Montagssorbet mit Laut & Luise

Kein Kind zu haben kann im Alter schwer sein. Wer kümmert sich? Wer pflegt oder leitet die Pflege an? Wer trägt die Verantwortung für den Umgang, den wir uns im Alter wünschen? Ein Einzelkind trägt all diese Entscheidungen auf seinen Schultern. Keine Absprachen mit Geschwistern, die durch verschiedene Sichtweisen die Schwere nehmen, kein Aufteilen der Aufgaben, der Besuche. 

Seit 2019 verstummte der Vater von Miriam Sachs mehr und mehr. Ja, erneut eine Demenz-Diagnose. Die Regisseurin kam ihm mit Schauspiel- Übungen und Improtheater-Spielen näher und sah ihn erneut aufblühen. Von 2022 an verbrachte sie als Einzelkind ihr Leben wieder im Haus ihrer Kindheit, um bei ihm zu sein. Die Mutter zeigte erste Symptome von Alzheimer. Tagsüber pflegte sie, nachts arbeitete sie an einem Buch über die Skurrilitäten der Pflege, sie schrieb aber auch vom Zauber, für ein paar Momente Einblick in das „Kopfkino“ des Vaters zu erhalten. 

Und dann war sie doch nicht da, als es zu Ende ging. Die Pflege in beste Hände gegeben, nahm sie einen journalistischen Auftrag an, um über den Gaza-Krieg zu schreiben, jederzeit bereit, nach Hause zu fliegen, wenn es kritisch würde... Aber selbstverständlich mit schlechtem Gewissen, denn der Tod ist nicht planbar und wie viel Leben ist angesichts des Todes erlaubt?
