Soon as I heard this song it reminded me of one of  my favourite  songwriters  "Burt Bacharach"  the  changes, chords the trumpet   and the  whole feel of the song.  So it was a pleasure to bring something to the table with this song!

this is the only jazz standard i have memorized and kind of practice playing over. in HS my band teacher gave me a lesson on improvisation and gave me a backing track of this one cassette.  I was kind of intimidated back, and didn't know who Wayne Shorter was. But then but 25+ years later, the tune has stuck with me and I see why he would give this to me as a kid to play over.
