Isolation / Live at Budapest

‘Blurred walls’ was originally written for a documentary about a dark era in Hungary in the 20th century. Alongside an analogue synth and a pump organ the track contains noises, such as the boom of a prison door, crackles of a handcuffs and a click of an old typewriter used in the interception room that time.

Blurred walls

This early one is particularly important to me because it was the first song I have made as konkoi, so the beginning of this project and choosing this name are also connected to it.

Moreover it contains a lot of elements (both instrumentation and technical solutions) which stayed with me in my creative process over the years.

After his classical music studies Bence Grócz had played in a band for ten years, then in 2019 he launched his solo project, konkoi. The alternation of quiet and pulsating soundscapes of the often repetitive process music creates a strong atmosphere and meditative state. His works include pieces for piano and harmonium as well as for analogue synthesizer and electric piano.
