The history and the story of my song: "CASH MONEY IS THE CHANT":

I had originally wrote this song for my oldest son "Jaime" back when he was 11 years old, still in Elementary school.
Jaime is now 23 years old. He had a homework assignment to do and his teacher had said that the students could
complete the assignment in a few different ways, they could either make a collage, write an essay or make up a cool
wrap jingle/song to best describe their work subject. Being the "Creative Genius" that I am (Hahahaha ! smile !!) I had 
suggested to my son that we put together a Rap song type Jingle.......Well as you can well imagine, "WE" turned into
"ME" real quick. To make a long story short, Jaime went off to sleep and I sat down to write what literally would change
the rest of my life. I would never have know that this song would take on a Life of Its very own. no one could have ever
seen this coming. Not even me, and I am a big believer in "When you least expect it......EXPECT IT !! Needless to say,
Jaime's homework assignment was an over night sensation, he got an "A" on the project and made himself quite the
little star of his class. All the while giving thanks and Props to, YOURS TRULY....The ever faithful, ever loving MOM.

The motivation to write this little "Diddy" came from my love of the group Cash Money Millionaires. At the time, the
group was really at the top of their game, so I was inspired to write something for my son along those guidelines. So
I closed my eyes, opened my heart and soul, and all of a sudden the creative juices started flowing through my brain
and from that point, "CASH MONEY IS THE CHANT" WAS BORN AND HERE TO STAY. Pretty cool huh ?

HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT AND TRUE MEANING OF THIS SONG. THIS IS A TRIBUTE TO
ALL THE PEOPLE OUT THERE, YOUNG AND OLD....THAT CAN TRULY RELATE TO THE STRUGGLE OF
TRYING TO MAKE MONEY AND MAKING YOUR LIFE HAPPEN. LIFE CAN BE A PAINFUL AND UPHILL
BATTLE, AND MAKING MONEY PLAYS A KEY ROLL IN HOW YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE ENDS MEET

YOU MAY BE DEALING WITH A PARENT THAT IS AM ALCOHOLIC THAT WOULD RATHER DRINK THAN
PAY THE BILLS AND PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE. OR YOU MAY BE THE ONLY CHILD IN THE FAMILY
THAT IS DEALING WITH A PARENT WHO IS BATTLING CANCER AND CANNOT WORK LET ALONE
STAND ON THEIR OWN TWO FEET, AND YOU ARE LEFT TO FIND A JOB, GO SCHOOL, WORK LONG
HOURS, COOK THE FOOD AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY AND YOURSELF. 

THE POWERFUL MESSAGE OF THIS SONG IS TO "STAY STRONG, KEEP YOUR HEAD HELD HIGH, AND
MOVE AND PUSH FORWARD, NO MATTER WHAT YOU COME UP AGAINST - BE TRUE TO YOURSELF
AND BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN DO IT....AND IT SHALL BE DONE. DON'T FEED IN TO THE GAMES, THE
DRAMA OR THE HEAD TRIPS. STAY FOCUSED AND WELL GROUNDED AND YOU WILL BE SURE TO MAKE
IT TO WHERE YOUR TRYING TO GO


So let me now bring you up to speed and the present. The song stayed in a plastic portfolio in my desk well until my
son graduated from high school back in 2007. Pay attention to the time line people, it is a very important factor in 
this story. It is now 2012......Well a couple of years back in 2009, I was dating a guy that was a rapper and low key
he was not a supporter of anyone but himself. I never thought that I would be included in that category. I was always
very supportive of him and his work, yet he turned out to be a non supporter of mine. I told him that I had a rap tune
stashed away that I wrote for my son once upon a time. Well...he laughed at me, and told me that I could never do
anything with it and that it would go nowhere. Well let me tell you all something......Never, EVER tell me that I CAN'T
do something......those words will drive me to conquer the world. I was taught at a very early age to embrace the 
positives and turn away from the negatives. And to this day, that is the way that I live my life and exactly what I teach
my own children as well.

So I said to his face: "Oh Yeah wise guy ? Well let me tell you something, not only am I
going to re write this song, I am going to reproduce it, find a beat for it, record it in a righteous studio and then I am
going to have a it played on a very popular radio station AND spit it LIVE and shout out your name after I have done
it !! Well let me tell you, he must have laughed until the cows came home and told me that I was obviously out of my
mind and that it would never happen. Little did he know that his negative feedback was actually going to lead me to
unbelievable success. So guess what people ? I DID IT !!! With the help of some very important guys in the business,
we rewrote the song, came up with a cool beat for the song, and I ended up collaborating with 3 different writers to
make it the most amazing cut of my career. I ended up going on the radio here in the Inland Empire, a station called
99.1 KGGI. They played the song, loved it, and asked me to spit it LIVE....which I did with such pride and joy. I also
did a shout out to the rapper guy that was such an unbeliever. Needless to say, he could not get over what I had
done...a month later we were DONE. Isn't it funny how some things happen and come to an end for very important
reasons ?

I owe my thanks to the following individuals for the success and collaboration on this song: Myself, my son Jaime,
Raymond, Hazel Top Notch and most important of all DJ ROWDY "A". I first saw, knew and heard about ROWDY
at a performance the Ole Skool Crew Supreme Dance Team did at Alta Loma High School for one of their assemblies.
Rowdy was in the front row, front and center, of course (smile). Cheering us on, crackin' jokes, making us all laugh
and have a good time. Shortly after ROWDY graduated, I contacted him to help me to complete the lyrics on the 
song and rewrite the hook and a few other parts of the song as well. I will never forget the times that we sat in his living
room at Eddie's house in Fontana and wrote, erased and rewrote the pieces to the song that need some extra Snap,
Crackle and Pop! I ended up asking ROWDY if he would please add a RAP portion on my song just to make it more
exciting and extra special.....he agreed and came up with a groundbreaking EPIC RAP/HOOK piece that cannot be
denied. Anyone that listens to the song can feel the love, the sweat and the extra effort that was put in to making it
happen. ROWDY was always gentleman and a man of his word. He would always ask me if I wanted something to drink
and would laugh and say that they only had water from the tap to offer and always made sure that I was comfortable.
He was sooooo funny, he always made me laugh and gave me great advice when I got down on myself and started to
feel insecure about my talent in raping the song to where it needed to be.

When the time came to record the song at Hazel's studio, I was so nervous and insecure and I was not delivering my
lyrics the way I should. I remember that ROWDY kept telling me to calm down and focus and to remember how we
practiced it time and time again together at his house and how much fun we had while doing it. And before you knew
it I was spitting out those lyrics like the champ ROWDY always believed I could be. Then came the "REAL MAGIC"
when ROWDY went into the recording booth and raped his Star Portion. I remember thinking.....WOW !! This guy is
absolutely AMAZING....with a talent that only God himself could ever give anybody. ROWDY was so free and natural
and quite comfortable in his own skin. Just a cool delight to watch and hear. He knew exactly what he was doing at all
times and was a perfectionist on top of it all. He and Hazel recorded the Chanting parts together and we came up with
the most UNBELIEVABLY, AMAZINGLY EPIC Song called "Cash Money Is The Chant" ROWDY told me to never
change the song, that it was just perfect and they way it should be all on its own. Even though I have played the song 
for several music industry people, and they would tell me here and there to reproduce it, come up a with a CLUB
VERSION of the song. ROWDY always told me to leave it alone and let it take on a life of its own.

What can I say....ROWDY is a perfect example of a Guardian Angel on so many levels.This young man came into my
life and changed it for the better. He gave me confidence, boosted my self esteem, taught me how to love myself and
to believe in who I am as a woman.He told me that I was a great mother and to keep up the good work with my kids.He 
would tell me that I deserved nothing but the best and that I should settle for nothing less. Most of all, he was
an avid supporter and believer of the Ole Skool Crew Supreme Dance Team as well. ROWDY even choreographed for us
on a very special dance routine we performed at STAPLES Center one season. He always had a smile and a joke on the
tip of his tongue for me each time I would meet with him. He made me so happy to be there with him and gave me the hope
and the courage to strive to make my dreams come true. Just as he did for himself....He never stopped believing and he
never gave up Hope. Thank you ROWDY........May the the Good Lord Forever Give you the Love, Peace, Contentment and 
all that you ever Desired and Richly deserved.. I will never forget you my friend, you will ALWAYS have a very special place
in my Heart and Soul.
