Here is my annual end of summer / fall chill mix

So, this one night about 6 weeks ago (must have been right after shambhala.... yep) I was feeling a bit somber and  started layering a few pretty ambient sounds together with no intention of making a full length mixtape. After that night I had about a 20 minute mix going so I decided to stick it out and continue layering, but with some vocal bits and guitar things. Eventually I ran out of music to use in it but was really happy with the outcome of this mix. It's a little bit chiller and more atmospheric than my usual chill mixes, and I added some raw acoustic twangs and toned down the rave. 
So here it is.

I have been sitting on this one for a little while but decided to release it. I have mostly been putting stuff out via the Purple Room, but decided it was time to put something on my solo account. 

This track combines a mix of flavors and styles from some various world music samples, backed by a slower house beat. I hope you guys dig it.

For this edition of the Parkcast, I wanted to do something a little different and create a mixtape featuring songs that have been a big part of my home life in the last year.  It's a wide mixture of styles, from disco and world music, to indie and downtempo, done in the style of a radio mix. It's best listened to with a loved one and a glass of wine <3.

I’ve been in love with sound for the past 7 years, but for some reason - I’ve always been afraid to finish songs, perform a DJ set in front of people, or basically just - put my name to a piece of audio.

My greatest passion has always been my deepest insecurity. Until now.

A few months ago, I happened to visit a tarot card reader and he recognised this fear of mine. He said that in October, I would get an opportunity to play in front of some friends. He said that them viewing me as a DJ/Producer or a musician - would give me the little spark I need to get over this fear & unlock the greatness that lies beyond. 

And sure enough, on the 1st week of October - one of my best mates - Sam Henry, better known as Shenry, happened to throw a party in a beautiful farmhouse nestled amongst the mountains behind Byron Bay, Australia. On the Sunday, when everyone was just relaxing, soaking up the sun, and gathering wood for the fire - I got the chance to step up & curate the sunset. 

It was actually the first time I’ve got to play with my gear that I know so well & love so much, my beloved Traktor S4, and in front of people. Suddenly, I felt fearless. 

This is that set.
