We at State Alchemy Music are thrilled to announce the next episode of our new mix series, SubState – a series dedicated to showcasing the very best in Bass Music.

From Drum and Bass, Garage, IDM, to Glitch and beyond, SubState will dive deep into the diverse spectrum of bass-driven genres that keep the underground scene thriving. Our mission is to reignite Cape Town’s bass music scene by promoting both emerging local talent and established international artists.

🎧 Episode 3: Zoyinked 🎧

Zoyinked is the Drum & Bass brainchild of DJ and producer Erynn Friedmann. Erynn found DnB on the gritty streets of Newtown, Jozi and instantly fell in love with its raw energy. Nights at iconic events like Science Frikshun and Addiction only deepened her obsession. Inspired by local legends Magz, Brickwall and Sol Pillars, and global phenomenon’s Enei and Distance, Erynn gravitated towards the genre's deeper, more intelligent strains. Her explorations led her down the dark alleys of dub, minimal rollers, and neuro-funked sofa sounds, giving birth to the Zoyinked project – a project of intelligent beats & undeniable soul.

The first edition of Mechatronicast is built by Berlin based producer and DJ, Privacy. We first encountered him and his stunning record selection a couple of years ago at OHM, and have since then had the pleasure of inviting him to play several Mechatronica nights.

With recent 12"s out on Valcrond Video, Lobster Theremin and Klasse Wrecks, Privacy continues to produce exceptional diverse electronic music and mesh records like no one else in the game. In the vein of his DJ sets, this contribution to Mechatronicast is a powerful sticky blend of electro, EBM, techno, ghetto and more.

Konstantin Popp ist ein DJ und Musikproduzent aus Nürnberg. Seine musikalische Laufbahn begann bereits in jungen Jahren, inspiriert durch die Band seines Vaters. Im Laufe der Zeit entdeckte er das Schlagzeug und fand als Jugendlicher über Drum Machines und digitale Audioworkstations (DAWs) den Zugang zur elektronischen Musik.

Seine Jugend verbrachte er in Berlin, wo er eine Ausbildung als Veranstaltungstechniker erfolgreich absolvierte. Heute ist Konstantin neben seiner Tätigkeit als DJ und Produzent als Fachplaner und technischer Leiter in der Veranstaltungstechnik tätig. Geprägt von seiner Zeit in Berlin setzt er sich aktiv für Diversität und die Förderung der Subkultur in Süddeutschland  ein.
