As soon as we heard Rit, we agreed we were prepared to kill anyone who stood in our way of signing it.  If you've been anywhere near a rave in the last couple of months, you'll recognise the rasping bass hook (you might have caught yourself humming it in the shower since), as well as the huge stepping beat.  Evidently not content with the utter devastation this combo inflicts on dancefloors when it drops, CV twists the bass and synths up further, as Rit evolves and mutates throughout, only easing up slightly for the breakdown - incidentally one of the sickest, bleepiest second drops for a loooong time.  In summary, we've warned you that this has got a very serious dose of the funk.  Use protection.

Current Value - Rit [Sonic Barrier EP The Sect Music TSMDIGI005 - OUT NOW] clip

Rounding off the EP is a track which inhibits the shadowlands between Neuro and harder Drum & Bass.  The intro may lull you into a false sense of security, with its combination of dreamy pad and synth work - but be prepared, because when 'Shimmer' drops, there are liable to be casualties...  As you would expect from CV, the beats are clinical, with plenty of tight percussion switch-ups to maintain the furious pace and lend the track a sense of limitless energy.  However, it's the malleable, rubbery bass riff - subtly moving and changing throughout with sterling filter-work - which will stick in your head long after 'Shimmer' has finished ripping the sound system to shreds.

Current Value was tasked with going in on one of our most popular tunes from last year (TSMDIGI003) and delivered a remix that left us astounded.  The attention to detail is evident from the off -  basically, he's taken all our favourite bits and made them much better.  Whilst retaining the spirit of the original, in contrast this remix drops with a hard stepping beat and homegrown CV bassline, before rolling out and flattening everything in its path.  Tried and tested on dancefloors from Europe to Australasia, this never fails to get a crowd moving!

Manchester based DJ/producer Antagonist cues up a collection of dense and uncompromising electronic tracks on his R&S Records debut. The ‘Rites’ EP pulls together 5 new tracks that lean on the artist’s drum ‘n’ bass roots and influences, a sound that has informed his DJ sets and studio productions since he launched the project in 2004.

Channeling his productions towards the more cinematic and darker side of drum ‘n’ bass and broken beats, Antagonist has released a strong run of EPs for labels such as Samurai Music, Ronin Ordinance, One. Seventy and his own Discipline imprint, stamping his hybrid sound across these well received releases.

Layers upon layers of shadowy ambience and wistful tones are punctured by hard edged beat-science, as Antagonist goes in deep on the complex breakbeats, chopping back and forth knifelike loops and dynamic kicks. A highly accomplished debut for the R&S label from this sonically exciting young producer.

At the heart of everything that Oxyd does lies passion and precision. When it comes to music, these two qualities reach a rare level – his digging is as strict as it is curious, his record collection as broad as it is meticulous, and his mixing as tight as it is adventurous.
Brought up on techno in the early nineties via independent radio, he first jumped behind the decks in 1997. Soon, the insatiable collector would also incorporate house, bass music, jungle, ambient and new UK sounds into his sets.

Over twenty years, the French DJ’s career was marked by residencies for Technorama, Release The Groove and the 75021 collective. A stalwart of the Parisian scene, Oxyd saw his skills recognized on an international level when he was invited to play Dimensions in 2013 and Boiler Room in 2014. That same year, he started a monthly slot on Rinse France which has built a regular following. In January 2015, the selector started his own label Intramuros, pushing forward new talents such as PEEV, Luxus Varta and E-Unity.

Oxyd’s DJ sets embody his experience and personality. Not only does he play the freshest and most forward-looking music, but he also reads a crowd like no one else, and his wide and well-deployed knowledge allows him to adapt to every situation.

Stanislav Sevostyanikhin is a Russian electronic music artist, DJ and label owner, known under the pseudonyms Dissident and Kontext. Residing in St.Petersburg, he spends most of his time slicing beats, synthesizing sounds and shaping trends in modern music  culture. His broad range of influences have shaped his diverse and innovative style, although primarily focused on Drum& Bass, Stan has never restricted his music to one style or genre. 
Stan began electronic music production in the late 90's. After gaining some studio experience he formed the Drum & Bass group Dissonance with friends. They had some success nationally in Russia with their live performances and releases . In 2001 he left the project and went on to produce solo under the Dissident moniker  honing and polishing his sound until his first 12” vinyl release “Technecium” (ft. Paul B) was released on the prestigious British record label Renegade Hardware in 2002. 
Today, Dissident is considered a veteran of the Russian Drum & Bass scene. His discography includes 9 albums and a multitude of 12” singles and EPs on labels such as Offshore, Hospital, Subtle Audio, KOS.MOS, Microfunk, Subvert Central, Counter Intelligence,  Subtle Audio, Pinecone Moonshine and many others. 
Under the guise of Kontext, he set out to write music without being bound by genre, showcasing the diversity and extent of Stan’s production skills and his experiments with Techno, Bass Music, IDM. Kontext was exclusively signed to Bristol-based label Immerse  and has received great press from magazines like FACT, DE:Bug, Knowledge, Groove, TimeOut & SPb.

As a DJ he has performed across the globe, known for his own Spare Senses mix series and podcasts for Electronic Explorations, Bassdrive, Jungletrain, Atmoteka and many more.
If all this wasn't enough to keep Stan busy, he also runs his own Opposide Records imprint and is involved in several side projects including TV & Movie production.
