This track was inspired by Lakej's masterclass. I followed his method to get grainy textures and tried to create more complex sounding elements and with a simple build, tension and release. Through recent upheaval the track reflects both the unease and clarity of moving through inner conflict.

'Ethereal Sex’ is the 3rd release to come on already acclaimed label Gypsy, whose past releases have been supported by a fierce cast of artists in electronic music. 

In this release, founder and producer Rudi Calcagnile returns under his new alias ‘Clang’, releasing three slabs of underground techno, oscillating between old school fast techno and hard house. The EP draws influence from a spectrum of adjacent styles between late 90s and early 00s techno, taking inspiration from artists like Surgeon, The Advent, Funk D’Void and Dave Angel as well as labels such as Tresor, Soma and Rotation Records. 

A1 ‘Meritocracy’ kicks off the EP with a distorted funky sequence which gradually reveals a bangin' hard house track, pervaded by heavy kicks, aggressive snares and extreme sharpened hi-hats. Massive! 

The sound becomes more industrial and crispy in A2 ‘Under The Sun’. The track immediately caught our attention with a mix of flattened industrial beats, gritty shakers and a funk bassline that create a tremendous tight groove which explodes in a multitude of powerful elements: dirty chord stabs, chopped vocals, snappy 808 snares, electric guitar riffs. Heater! 

On the flip, like in a secret rendezvous, a gentle-syncopated kick introduces us into a higher dimension where vibrant filtered chord stabs and a vigorous bassline come together as two bodies in a whirlwind of passion...until soaring cinematic strings and punchy 909 snares proclaim a sublime state of pleasure that only a selected few would call ‘Ethereal Sex’!

Anton Earman is a 33-year-old DJ who started collecting records in the early 2000s and has been dedicated to Electro after visiting the Clone store in Rotterdam in 2006. 
This mix is trying to show the versatility of electro sound. Starting with a more classically sounding kraftwerk’ian Electro-sound which is very distinct in the tracks by “Dopplereffekt”, “Anthony Rother” and “Electro Nation”. Escalating towards the wicked scratchy-electro-tools by “Replicants”, “Models Citizens” and “I-F”. Then moving towards the recent Bass-pumped Electro-Breaks like the Tracks by “Formally Unknown”, “No Moon” and “Carl Finlow / Radioactive Man” which remind so much of these late 90’s Nu-Skool-Breaks. And finally speeding up to these new urban sounding Hybrids between Electro and Techno by “Go Nuclear” or “DL/MS” providing a palette of emotions ranging from dark and technical to atmospheric/melodic.

Loco Motive is a DJ based in Poznań, Poland. With 19 years of experience in DJing under his belt he can deliver sets from techno to pleasant house music, depending on a gig. He is a resident of Dom Technika club in Poznań. He also is a founder of P!L. 

PLAY !T LOUD is a music platform created in 2011 to promote fresh electronic club music in Poland. Over the 7 years of existence they helped to organize over 100 events in various location on which they debuted/booked artists like: Legowelt, Powder, Lokier, No Moon and many many more. From 2016 they are also a record label and booking/event agency with unique and friendly approach.
From 2019 they are programming new space in Poznań called Dom Technika, a must visit spot on the music map of Europe with superb sound system and people inside.
