Welcome to the newest member of our little family: Coco Coquelicot!

Coco Coquelicot loves to blend genres together, infusing off-the-radar electronic gems with bass-heavy grooves often sprinkling in unknown or forgotten pop songs to top it off. She spent her teen years swooning to jazz sounds and then landed her first residency at rock café Warhol. During her later years as an art student she discovered her love for the Queer scene, which led her towards an eclectic and electronic style. 

A set from Coco will undoubtedly create an environment of liberation and empowerment, as she is always looking at ways to unify different sounds, scenes and people. After years of working for underground parties she became one of the programmer for Relate Radio in 2021 as well as the first female resident of KopjeK. Expect a genre fluid set full of energy!

BIN is a DJ and producer hailing from the city of Eindhoven. Not only is he at home behind the decks, he is also a co-founder of puin collective .

Drawing most inspiration from the influential 90’s and 00’s era in electronic music, BIN merges the nostalgic essence of these time periods with hardgroove elements. This approach results in the creation of electrifying, high-energy and eclectic sets that captivate his audience. 

This set epitomizes BIN’s current style; embodying modern techno sounds with a heavy influence from the 2000s era. He excels in blending drum patterns and eerie synths, while incorporating vocals and quick chops to maintain balance amidst the sound.

Four Four Premiere: Lucas Ogma - Native Wildflower [Ogma Records]

To celebrate the 240th Local Selection mix, Cork-native, NYC-based selector STE-VÍ, once half of the Hanley Brothers, takes us on a journey through the golden age of techno. Mixed entirely on vinyl, the young selector glides through a collection of tribal-kissed 90s classics featuring cuts from Marco Bailey, DJ Shufflemaster, Joris Voorn, Hardcell, and others.

New York-based techno artist STE-VÍ creates a unique blend of driving techno and groove.
The energetic DJ is influenced by late 90s/early 2000s techno, but he also includes recent cuts while keeping his gaze fixed on the record shelves. His style incorporates a fast-paced blend of loops, percussion, and rhythm to create an innovative sound that is reminiscent of the past. Recent headline shows in Boston and Toronto, combined with his breakneck style of vinyl mixing have seen him become a highly sought-after selector.

The Cork native polished his chops by playing with his brother at underground showcases under the name The Hanley Brothers. The duo performed at clubs and festivals around Ireland, and they were recognised for their harsh approach on techno. He currently lives in the United States, where he DJs at revered New York clubs and performs with industry giants.

STE-VÍ’s contribution to the Local Selection is a relentless assault of thumping drums and gritty basslines, cutting through the mix with a persistent closed-fist approach. His mixes have a raw, unabashed intensity that is synonymous with 90s and 2000s shuffling techno and the art of mixing it well – fast, choppy, and unforgiving. The hour mix is as smooth and slick as it is uncompromisingly ferocious, seamlessly blending teeth-grinding stompers with samba-soaked tribal grooves. This is exactly what a vintage techno mix should be.
