I remixed this little-known track from the "Sprung" Original Soundtrack. No editing.
All the scratches are my own, Jay-Z acappella played with just a pre-chorus/chorus of a 70's disco vinyl that i manually spin back to place every so often (Imagination's "Music & Lights")- this is an old school retro hip hop vinyl mix.

I only use Technics 1210mkII turntables & a 2-channel battle-style mixer from Behringer.

I put this thru a Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 audio interface.
I'm better at mastering these days, but when I did this I hit it with the standard compressor, an adaptive limiter and a stereo spread in Logic Pro X to really make it pop and feel like Jay-Z's in ma living room...word

After letting him rap I scratch-murder Kanye's rhymes under an Ortofon OM S stylus! Enjoyed doing this one.

Beat from Kelis' "Bossy" made for a great remix of Kanye's "Heavy Hitters" from his debut album, giving both tunes a totally new feel..

I Get A Rush (Original Mix)

This is an Original Mix festival track at 128 bpm, key: F # 
A big piano composition by me falls away to a fun low melody  - which then hatches into a bitey drop with solid heavy drums.
I used four different kicks, I wanted the bulk of this to be straight forward and thick with bass.

The different "Ghost" clips are from a movie. I then changed the pitch, and added a bunch of FX to make them unrecognisable from the original movie clips.

I use Logic Pro X, EXS24, Synthmaster 2.6, Massive, NI VIntage, Waves, Fab Filter and stock logic Compressors, Ozone Advanced 6.2 for mastering solutions.

Go Ghosts! (Original Mix)

128 bpm, Key: F#. Sidechain pumping, noodling bass. Dynamic, wide, warm colouring on the master and an extra care taken on reverb and frequency space. Focussed less on instrumentation and arrangement and more on mixing and mastering. I wanted a clean but grimey bass to take centre-stage.

128 bpm, Key: F. No guitars were harmed in the recording of this track!
Rough as guts demo this, with audible air from saturation plugins in quieter sections and some sounds that are very slightly out of time or off of queue! But it has soul and heart, I will remaster it when convenient:

I wanted to communicate an idea with this track using vocal samples that I've collected over time - I'll be honest with producers out there, a couple of these are vengeance samples (lol!) - so I trawled through hundreds of vox clips and managed to develop a statement I'm happy with :)
