The title of the album relates to the slogan "Shag Shag Shag",a lyric from The JAMs' 1987 debut single "All You Need Is Love" that also appeared as promotional billboard graffiti at the time of the single's release. The gatefold sleeve of the Shag Times vinyl double LP alludes to a newspaper, whose columns recount The JAMs' actions as reported in the music press, alongside reviews of their musical output.

Released in January 1989 (see 1989 in music), Shag Times includes a selection of The JAMs' singles and album tracks, followed by The Timelords' "Doctorin' the Tardis". The remainder of the album consists of tracks originally by The JAMs, The Timelords and Disco 2000, remixed by and credited to The KLF. These KLF remixes were produced in 1988 by Drummond and Cauty, with engineering by Ian Richardson and programming by Nick Coler. The compilation showcases The JAMs' characteristic sample-driven hip hop and bastard pop, and in equal measure it introduces the minimalistic house sound of The KLF that characterised their subsequent "Pure Trance" releases "What Time Is Love" and "3 a.m. Eternal".

Following Shag Times, The KLF became Drummond and Cauty's main vehicle; the only future release by The JAMs was the industrial techno single "It's Grim Up North".

The "What Time Is Love?" Story is a compilation album by British electronic music duo The KLF, comprising six versions of their techno track "What Time Is Love?"
Released on 25 September 1989 on LP and CD, The "What Time Is Love?" Story used the same basic design lay-out as the "Pure Trance Original" singles, but the colour scheme was altered: lurid pink writing on lurid green (for the vinyl), and lurid green on lurid pink (for the CD).

The White Room is the fourth and final studio album by British electronic music group the KLF, released on 4 March 1991. The album features versions of the band's hit singles, including "What Time Is Love?", "3 a.m. Eternal", and "Last Train to Trancentral".

Originally scheduled for 1989 as the soundtrack to a film of the same name, the album's direction was changed after both the film and the original soundtrack LP were cancelled. Most tracks on the original album version are present in the final 1991 release, though in significantly remixed form. The White Room was supposed to be followed by a darker, harder complementary album The Black Room, but that plan was abandoned when the KLF retired in 1992.

On 23 April 2021, a re-edited version of the album was officially released on streaming platforms, in a series of digital reissues, as The White Room (Director's Cut), featuring new edits of original tracks from 1989 to 1990 sessions.

What Time Is Love? (Live At Trancentral) is a remixed release of the original Pure Trance version which eventually peaked at #5 in the UK charts.

Uptight (Everything’s Alright) – a cover of the Stevie Wonder song – was the third and final Disco 2000 single, including the B-side Mr. Hotty Loves You.

Unlike the first two singles Uptight managed to enter the UK Singles Chart but peaked at #86 only. In a similar fashion it is also the only Disco 2000 single of which all mixes were available on CD as well, albeit only outside the UK.
